Aww, Harvey, don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone has something to give. Maybe you just tried giving the wrong thing. You have a ways to go yet, true, but I'm sure there's some way you can be there for Jon that won't jeopardize your recovery. You have to take care of yourself before you can take care of other people. Do a little more of that, and maybe it'll be easier to help him.

I have no idea what else to give. He's got a home and someone who loves him but that's all. I can't be there for him in any real way.

If that's not a real way of being there for him, I have no clue what is. You're too hard on yourself. You can't do this for him, and you shouldn't have to. People have to make their own decisions at some point. If he is able to deal with this, you will be a major part of why.
