"Halo was a seminal title, innovative and compulsive"

Are you talking about Halo 1? I didn't much like Halo 1 and I haven't tried 2 or 3. Are you sure about that sentence?

"Seminal"? If you mean "pertaining to, containing, or consisting of semen" then yes I agree.

"Compulsive", I guess so since I've seen people play it for long periods of time.

But "innovative"? What was innovative about it? I assume you must mean the feel or story right? Mechanically, wans't it just another bland FPS?

Yes, I meant Halo 1. Halo 2 is a massive improvement on the first one. I have both it and 3, we should play them some time.

"Seminal" also means "influential" or where something begins (relating as it does to "seeds").

Relating to the above also, Halo had many innovations that were copied later, things we now take for granted.
It was, I believe, the first shooter to restrict the player's inventory to two weapons.
It created scripted set-piece battles in open area, allowing for free-roaming fights of great flexibility. The original Doom had been the only other game to combine "big battles" with "open areas", but those were simply as part of the larger slaughterthon.
Possibly it was the first to incorporate vehicles.

If I'm incorrect in any of these, I'd love to know.
