Fan Art! 6 gatsu Bitter Orange

I don't normally post fan art but a friend of mine wanted to know what Shige's dress looked like when he dressed in drag for his play so I drew this from memory. I'm not sure if the bust is 100% accurate because it had some complicated lace and wires at the top to hide his lack of breast but I think you can get at least get an idea of what it ( Read more... )

You're welcome :). He was cute but still very manly. I saw it twice. The first time he played it really coy and cutesy when he was in the dress and the second time he toned it down a lot.

I'll have love seeing a coy and cutesy Shige in drag. I wish this play will be released in DVD for us to be awed by his acting...

And you're very lucky to be able to watch the play! Thanks for sharing :D

Yay! Thank you. So we're definitely talking evening wear here ... with the sparkles? Wonder if he had a selection of outfits in his wardrobe and this was just a favourite. And where do you shop for dresses like this? Or does cross-dressing also require design skills. Not that the play would have answered those questions but it does raise the issue of practicality. Guess there's some secret online store.

I'm not sure I'd call it evening wear. It was more like one of those cotton summer dress Japanese girls love to wear made over for a country western singer. I definitely think it was a custom job :).

In another world, this would have been a production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (damn I want a JE prod of that!) kind od midwestern frippery :) I think the lace was a little more arched at the top maybe? It definitely gave the appearance of bosoms :)

I have started responding to this like 3 times but my iPhone keeps eating it and I have to keep starting over >.<

Anyway I agree something is off about the way I drew the lace and I'm not sure about the under wire but hopefully the general idea comes across.

That could be fun. Who would you cast in an all male JE version of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers? I know I'd want Koyashige and maybe some Tegomass but I wonder who else would be good? Sakamoto? Uchi?

You're welcome :). Yes Shige's character in the play had a phobia of women that made him unable to talk to women without some kind of shield in place and one of the ways he guarded himself was dressing in drag.

I'm pretty good except for this sweltering heat. How about you?

First Shige the geisha, then Shigemi the schoolgirl and now Shige the coy, cutesy, girl. Is there no end to this man's talent as a girl? Beats Tegoshi any day. Thanks for sharing this with us, it would look really pretty all sparkly.
