Ok, so. Apparently if certain images on photobucket get served too many times (meaning too many people view them), photobucket will downgrade their quality. So, long story short, it made all the graphics at tenthtwilight look like SHIT. I went and replaced the profile pictures, but I haven't replaced the frames yet, though those also look like shit ( Read more... )

I can probably upload all the images on my own server space when I get home tonight. Actually, I can probably create a tenthtwilight account so all of us can access it via FTP. *makes a note*

Thanks. I'm sorry about all this -_- I'll zip the files up for you or something. I wouldn't trust downloading them back from photobucket. Or the ftp works.

I guess I get why photobucket did it. According to the photobucket stats we're serving up these files ~300 times a day. I guess that's a good sign? Hahaha. A lot of it might be us, but yeah. STILL PISSED.

Issue fixed thanks to Jen providing us with some of her space on her lj scrapbook. Now we don't even have to waste your bandwidth (which I was kind of concerned about when looking at these stats)

I didn't either. It's probably fine if you use .pngs or don't get a lot of traffic, but we've been throwing these comms around so much that they're bound to get a ton of hits. I mean, just look at this:

Some of it might be us, but it can't be all. Our computers do cache images. The ad one is due to me posting literally EVERYWHERE. The other ones are due to people browsing the info pages a lot. I don't have photobucket pro (and maybe if I did this wouldn't have happened!) so I can't look at how many times the profiles were viewed, but they were viewed enough for photobucket to say "bye bye quality." I've had to replace tenthtwilight's profile page twice. The first time I thought it was my fault, but now I know it's so not.

Anyway, that's one good thing that came out of this crap. It lets us know there's interest. So much interest that photobucket hates us for it.
