Wow. I am definately stealing this list. I was supposed to be reading a lot this summer but that seems to have fallen through on account of dating.

Oh yes! Please do. The #ed list isn't in order of the ones I like from best to worst, just the order in which I read them. If you want a list of the ones I REALLY enjoyed, here:

1. The Fountainhead
2. We the Living
3. Crime and Punishment
4. Brave New World
5. White Oleander

PS - Cat's Cradle is WAY better than Slapstick. If you want a better Vonnegut recommendation, read Welcome to the Monkey House or God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater. I enjoyed those two a lot.

I need to read half the books on the list you've read.

How was: Franny & Zooey?
To the Lighthouse?
This Side of Paradise?

Btw, I'm adding you. :D

franny & zooey in my opinion is pretty good, but not as good as catcher in the rye. i love the relationship between the siblings, but there's little action as most of the plot is developed in the character's words, i guess.

to the lighthouse...it's been a while since i read this, but i just bought an anthology of virginia woolf for $5 so i'm going to revisit it soon! it was my introduction to modernism, which eventually led to an obsession with james joyce & the like. i highly recommend reading it, but with scholarly criticisms next to you!

added you back!
