Activity One - Favourite Fic

Name three of your favourite Harry/Ron fics.

There will be old and hopefully new people reading this, and everyone can join in, not just the people writing/arting.

I'll start off, and in no particular order:

  I have a shortcut for this on my desktop, because it has to be just a double-click away.
  
  It is post-war and Harry is screwed up, and Ron is perfect, and…. *sigh*
  
  Ron licked his lower lip and watched as Harry leaned forward across the bar and wrapped his hand around the man's pale, narrow wrist, knuckles edging beneath the sleeve of his robe, which was flung casually open over his shirt and trousers. It was winter-weight wool, heather-green, spell-treated against rain and mud, and with several convenient magic pockets which only appeared when the wearer required them. Ron knew this information because he owned the same robe; Harry had admired the pockets two days before.

♘ Something Smaller Than A Teaspoon by leashy_bebes
The title hints to Ron's obliviousness as to why Harry is so upset when he finds out he's been "experimenting" with someone else. It's Hogwarts Era and it has the feel of that time, both Harry and Ron are perfectly in character, are sweet and a bit clueless and it's absolutely adorable. It's written in Ron's POV and it's perfect!

♘ Small Comforts by lordhellebore
Shortish (1,600 words). And so touching. his is one of those fics that makes you love Harry even more. This is Harry as a child, a teenage and a man finding comfort in the most innocent way; showing difficult moments in his life and the way face them.

♘ Fair and Square by tarie
Funny, sexy but so endearing. The way Ron is so embarrassed and the way Harry is looking at him, it's precious.

♘ Practive by Serene_Cj
This story captures Ron's voice perfectly, and it's forever one my of my favourites.

1. The first I can't link to, because I have never, ever found it again. It was the first fic I ever read aged 14, it was a H/R on fanfiction.net. It was just vanilla, dormitory sex and I loved it. I read it over, and over again. It was so special to me. But I got rid of it in a rush when my mum discovered my reading material and, er, wasn't impressed.

2. Into the Primordial Darkness by abigail89 I just adore this fic. It really touched me right in the feels. And it's got a great storyline and so believable.

... I can't think of another one! I know there are loads though.

Oh, my three favourite Ron/Harry stories - that's going to be hard to narrow down! Erm... I'll just pick three that are somewhere at the top of my list, though the pool of fantastic stories to choose from is massive! :)

First: Across the line by kerryblaze
It's just the hottest bloody thing on the planet, alright? :) I love her dominant Ron and a falling-apart Harry who knows the right thing to do once he's been "shown the light". ;)

Second: Blue eyes by solstice_muse and the sequel The First Move (found at two different pages) because it has a sweet drunk Ron, who seems to be adorably clueless and head-over-heels in love Harry who's beautifully shy and caring all in one

Third: Like candy from a baby by scoradh (in two parts) because it has an openly gay Ron who's being danced about by Harry so deep in a closet he's almost in Narnia - and it's warm and sexy and gawd, I wish I was able to write like that! :)

Cheers for reviving this Ron/Harry business, it's one of my favourite pairings! :)

3) I really tried to talk Reni out of taking her HP fic down. I leave all my stuff up, even the really old stuff that makes me cringe, but everyone's different and she's a 'move on' kind of gal. I did save most of her stuff, b/c it was awesome sauce.

Is that the one where Harry and Ron really guiltily got off in a tiny washroom? UGHHHH if that's the one you're talking about, that was SUCH A HOT FIC. So sad she took her fics down
