Oh wow, the Lucius/Harry here is absolutely fantastic! I love that it's canon compliant and that the kidnapping -- such a staple of old-school Lucius/Harry fic -- happens during Auror training. What a great premise! The erotic scenes were just amazing, and when we finally learn what Lucius is trying to do... *shudder* So perfect! Both POVs worked so well, too! I just loved it.

... I'm... thrown a bit by the ending, truth be told, but if I think it over, maybe it's not so out of left field as it seemed at first? Like, maybe Harry is substituting Draco for Lucius in some twisted way. I'm going to ponder that a bit more! But wow, what an amazing Lucius/Harry prisoner!fic. Totally awesome. :)

Thank you! I've always enjoyed this pairing, have written it a few times before, but this was the first time I decided to go all the way with Lucius as a madman. He's so convinced he's a hero!

Originally there was only going to be a tiny hint of Draco at the end (the rescue, then a bit of conversation just so we could find out what happened to Lucius...) but it felt like there were still too many emotional loose ends with Harry. Now the open ends are in wondering whether Harry is actually healed and pursuing a healthy form of self-therapy with this relationship or if this is a new kind of madness, if self-delusion is the "evil" that is passed like a disease from one wizard to another (and if Draco is indeed saved from it while Harry suffers it... or not).

I meant to reply to you again aaaaages ago, SORRY, but I did want to say thanks for putting the ending into context for me! I was just rereading the story because I'm about to rec it (it's been on my list for ages, gah!), and I love the ambiguity about Harry's sanity or the "evil" being passed. And as before, Lucius's voice is such a delight! Fabulous story. :)
