*happy sigh* Congratulations on finishing this fine work. I would have loved to have seen Jack cuddling his newborn son or daughter (perhaps in the future?) Harry was a fine OC, very well portrayed and just perfectly suited for Jack. The dialogue especially gave the story a fine, historical flavor.
So very glad you enjoyed it this! Actually, this is the second of the three complete H&theP stories I've written, and I'll be posting the third one during the next few weeks, as it's reedited.
Changing the POV is a fun device to use occasionally. There's a chapter in the third H&theP story that's written from the POV of a minor character, and it worked very well, too.
So very happy you enjoyed the ending! Thanks so much for all the feedback--always so very much appreciated. :)
Oh, thank you so much! So happy to think you liked it that well! And so far from deleting, I will instead be adding to it, as there is a third story being edited, and I've begun a fourth.
Thank you very much for the encouraging feedback. I truly appreciate it. :)
Well, I finally sat down and read the first story and this all in the same night (when I should be writing my feature about my visit to the chocolate factory last week!). Very very nice! I have absolutely no qualms about het (as I used to write it myself; POTC is my first slash fanfic pairing at all), and this is quite good, among the best I've seen. I look forward to making time to read part 3, hopefully in the next couple of days.
Oh my goodness, you read all that in one night! You are fast! So happy you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun writing it. Harry & the Pirate I was the first story I'd ever completed, and the first thing I'd written in many years. I think (I hope!) I've improved some with practice, but I still enjoy Harry--I wrote it basically because that's what I wanted to read, and there was nothing like it out there.
I'm posting the third story a couple chapters at a time, as tessabeth gets around to editing it for me--I never had a beta reader before, and I'm finding it very useful. We're up to chapter six now, although the rest is posted on ff.net, in its original form.
Thanks for reading and commenting! Again, I'm glad you liked it. :)
I've only just delved into the world of PotC fic, and this is one of the first things i've read. I just wanted to say that I've really enjoyed every single chapter of your work. Your way of writing, the characterisation and details, and the plot have been utterly fantastic! It's been brilliant to read, and I'm now off to catch up on the Norrington installment :)
Oh, lucky you! So much great reading ahead of you! There are some really wonderful writers in this fandom--although it's my only fandom, so I may be prejudiced. ;)
So very glad to hear you enjoyed the first two Harry & the Pirate stories. I started writing them a year ago, and they've been posted on fanfiction.net for quite a while--I finished Norrington's Choice in July. Then, in October, tessabeth (a fantastic writer!) agreed to help me edit all three Harry stories, and I rewrote some good-sized bits of Harry I (Swann's Revenge & Norrington's Choice were in better shape). Only the first six chapters of Norrington's Choice are posted here on Live Journal as yet, but if you don't want to wait to read it here (tessabeth is off to "OZ" for the holidays and I patiently await her editing expertise), you can read the rest at ff.net here.
Harry & the Pirate IV is also in the works. I've posted five chapters, and now that I've completed my Secret Santa fics I'll get back to writing more of it

By the way, I was looking at your profile page and see that you go to UCSB. Do you know my daughter, ladymora? She's a grad student there. Also, hazelhawthorne, one of the bright lights of the LJ PotC fandom, lives near the campus. It's a small world.
There'll be a HatP IV? The future certainly looks bright! And no, I haven't come across ladymora or hazelhawthorne, in LJ or at UCSB, but I shall definitely be on the look out now. And merry Christmas to you too!
