Chapter 5 - Nightmares & Truths

Everything was silenced.

He couldn't hear anything. The only thing he could do was watch.

Brooke was screaming and suddenly she was up against the ceiling... exactly how Jessica had been - Sam tried to get to her, but he couldn't move. Blood began pouring out of Brooke's lips and dripping down on the floor and onto Sam. Within seconds the ceiling around Brooke was burning and her whole body was wrapped in the flames - burning her. He couldn't do anything.

Tears fell from Sam's eyes as he watched everything happen as if it was in slow motion when suddenly he could hear... or at least something.

Laughter.

Sam tore his eyes away Brooke's burning body and stared at the dark laughing figure standing in front of the baby's crib. Anger rang down every part of his body and he tried to fight whatever was holding him. All he wanted was to kill that thing... that demon.

"Hello Sammy," the Yellow Eyed Demon stated, grinning.

Sam woke up with a start... sweat dripping from his forehead. Closing his eyes he tried to calm himself. It had just been a dream... just a dream. He tried to repeat that but no matter how many times he did, he couldn't believe it. Not after what's been happening. Not since his dreams starting becoming real.

The main problem he had was that he couldn't decide if it was a vision or just a dream. He couldn't tell...

Taring the blankets off him, Sam moved out of the room and walked across the hall towards Brooke's room. Hoping that they were asleep and wouldn't hear him, Sam opened the door all the way. Studying the room, he finally relaxed - Brooke and Karen were both sleeping soundly. A small smile appeared on his lips as he watched Brooke breath. She was beautiful.

Satisfied that Brooke was alright, Sam reluctantly went back to his room but not without leaving the door open. Just in case.

He fell asleep within minutes from exhaustion.

***

Brooke turned around frantically, searching for her daughter. "Lucy? Baby?" She jogged down the long hallway, trying to go through the doors - but they wouldn't let her in. "LUCY!"

Suddenly the hallway ended and when she tried to turn around there was a wall blocking her. As soon as she realized the walls were closing around her, all Brooke could hear was evil laughter. Just as suddenly, fire surrounded her and she could feel herself burning.

Brooke let out a scream.

Brooke woke up, gasping for breath... she instinctively wrapped her hands around her stomach to make sure her baby was still in there. Letting out a sigh of relief, Brooke glanced over to Karen. She was glad that she hadn't woken her up.

Thoughts and parts of the dream flew back in her mind as soon as she settled back in bed. Knowing she wouldn't be able to get back to sleep thanks to the thoughts, she let out an annoyed breath, Brooke carefully moved the blanket off of her and slid out of the bed. She figured if she just went to the bathroom and got a drink, she would feel better.

On the way back from the bathroom, however, was someone standing in her way. At first she thought it would be either Sam, Dean or Bobby... until she looked up into the face of a stranger with yellow eyes. Brooke tried to let out a scream and run away from the thing except she couldn't move and her voice was silenced.

The yellow eyed demon grinned at the young pregnant woman, "Sorry Brooke Davis. Can't have you waking up the Brothers too soon."

Tears started to fall down Brooke's cheeks, she was beyond confused at how this was possible - how she was unable to move or speak or how his eyes were glowing yellow or how the hell the man knew her name.

"Hmm... You are quite beautiful," stated Azazel chuckling, "for a human, of course."

Human? What the hell is he talking about?! Brooke shouted in her mind. She kept screaming, hoping that her voice would come back and someone would hear her.

"I have to admit, Sam does have the best taste in picking his women." Azazel said, smirking as he moved closer. Brooke tried to move away, all she wanted to do was move away - she didn't want this crazy man anywhere near her or her baby.

"Brooke?" Karen's sleepy voice asked from a few feet away. Brooke's eyes widened in panic, which caused Azazel's grin to widen. Karen opened her eyes to find Brooke frozen in the middle of the hall and a strange man grinning threatening. She let out a scream of surprise, but thankfully loud enough for the rest of the house to hear her. Karen's scream cut off quite suddenly however.

"Now, now, you shouldn't have done that." Azazel stated, his grin turning into an angry. He flicked his eyes to hers and Karen was flung up to the ceiling.

***

Sam, Dean, and Bobby woke up at the same time as soon as they realized someone had screamed. Sam, worried that it was Brooke, scrambled out of his room with his shotgun. Dean grabbed the gun from underneath the couch while Bobby grabbed his gun from underneath his pillow. They reached the hallway at almost the same time. Sam reached it first, than Bobby, with Dean rushing up the stairs a second later.

"Well, well, if it isn't the Winchester Brothers." Azazel stated, grinning at them in greeting. "And their good little friend, Bobby Singer."

"What are you doing here?!?! LET BROOKE GO!" Sam shouted, pointing his shotgun at the yellowed eyed demon. Bobby and Dean pointed theirs to the demon as well. However, because the demon was behind Brooke's body, none of the men had a clear shot at him.

Azazel chuckled again, before brushing his palm against Brooke's tear streaked cheek. "Now, don't get your pants in a gist. I was only introducing myself to your love, Sammy."

Brooke was full blown crying by now but they were still silenced. She tried to think positive with Sam here, however the feel of that man touching her felt as if she was being burned alive and the look on Sam's face wasn't helping her calm down.

"Let. Her. Go." Sam stated, his voice deeper and filled with more anger than ever before. Concentrating with all his heart and mind, knowing that Brooke needed him right now, he tried to fling the yellow eyed demon away from her. To his surprise Sam managed to fling the demon away from Brooke and into the wall. Azazel had been caught by surprised at Sam's show of telekinesis however he only let out a laugh in reaction as he got up.

"Don't worry, we'll be meeting again. Very soon, Sammy... Dean... Bobby." And with that Azazel disappeared out of thin air. At the same time, Karen fell from the ceiling and knocked into Dean who had tried to catch her. Karen let out a groan of pain as she landed on her ankle and arm wrong. Along with Karen's voice and movement, Brooke's voice was back and she could move on her own accord again. She slumped down in shock as she stared at the spot were the yellow eyed demon had stood only a few seconds ago.

Bobby and Sam rush towards Brooke, Sam reaching her faster and he gathered her in his arms as she let out a loud snob. She wrapped her arms around her stomach to make sure her baby was alright and leaned into Sam's embrace.

***

Thanks to Karen's tumble from the ceiling she ended up twisting her ankle, however thankfully Dean had managed to cushion her fall or she would have ended up with a lot more bruises. Brooke wasn't hurt (just freaked out) and was able to calm down sometime after Bobby and Dean patched up Karen.

"Who the hell was that Sam?" Brooke stated, glancing over to the man she thought she knew. Since she calmed down, she had been able to think clearly and was able to understand the stranger's words a lot more than she had during the whole ordeal.

Sam flinched at Brooke's voice. He glanced over towards Bobby who simply nodded - his face grim and angry. The demon shouldn't have been able to get into his house, and that pissed the hell out of him more than anything.

"That man that was here... he wasn't really a man." Sam started, his face filled with anguish. He didn't want Brooke to know about his line of work... she wasn't meant to be in that kind of stuff and selfishly he didn't want her think he was a freak.

"Wasn't really a man? Than what the hell was he, Sam?" Brooke questioned, her voice biting through the thick tension of the room.

"A demon, Brooke," Bobby answered, knowing that Sam would need another person to help explain what had happened to both Karen and Brooke.

"Demon?"

"That thing back there was a demon. Me, Sammy and our dad have been tracking for along time..." Dean began, still facing Karen who stared at him in shock and disbelief. "Demons, vampires, and werewolves and the other things that bump in the night are real."

Brooke stared at Dean in shock before shaking her head in disagreement. "They can't be real!"

"Yes they can be Brooke." Bobby stated, simply. "I've been hunting them since your aunt was killed by one."

Brooke's eyes widened at that, "What?"

"I'll explain to you what happened with your aunt when you're ready. Right now, however, isn't the time for it." Bobby stated, nodding over towards Sam so he could finish.

"Our mother was killed by the demon that had just been here," Sam explained softly. "We've been hunting it for a long time."

Brooke and Karen silently listened to Sam, Dean or Bobby as they continued to explain what had happened tonight and how things they thought were just fiction was actually real. Although they wanted to disagree with the brothers and her uncle, they also knew that the men weren't just some random crazy people spitting out all of this information. It was Bobby Singer along with Sam and Dean Winchester, they weren't people that would lie or be considered crazy. And even though they wished it hadn't happened, both Karen and Brooke realized that demons and other supernatural creatures were in fact... they saw it tonight for the first time. The demon with yellow eyes was completely real. They continued to explain about how they weren't really going on fishing trips like they said they had been - but hunting different sorts of creatures.

***

"Hey Lucas," Karen greeted, her voice had a quiver of worry she tried to cover that up with excitement.

"Hey mom, what's up? How's your trip?" Lucas asked, rather happy to hear from his mom after so long. Truthfully it had been only two days, but he had been worried. There's rarely been a day he hadn't spoken to or at least seen his mother since he was born.

"I'm good, I just wanted to call you and say that I'll probably stay a few extra days here. It's really beautiful here and what with my twisted ankle, it'll be harder to see it--"

Lucas cut her off, "Twisted ankle? Mom? What happened?"

Demons, Karen thought with grimace, however she let out a small laugh as to discourage Luke to think anything serious happened. "Nothing to worry about, Luke, I was just being clumsy going down the stairs and I ended up falling. Seriously, Luke, don't worry about it. I'm perfectly fine except for the pain but still I'm safe and sound."

"Alright, alright... just keep it up, alright?"

Karen smiled at her son's concern. "I will, now Luke, I gotta go? I'll see you sooner than you think. Make sure you do your laundry and keep the house clean."

Lucas let out a laugh at that, "Don't worry about the house or my laundry, mom, I've got it all handled."

"Good, now I gotta go, good night." Karen stated before kissing good-bye to Lucas.

***

As Lucas Scott hung up the phone he couldn't help but feel as if something was wrong with his mother. Something about her getting hurt which wasn't something she did - she wasn't a clumsy person (other than accidently getting pregnant as a teenager). She also paused before she answered what had happened... and that left a really bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. She had to be hiding something, but what?

Lucas glanced over towards the computer. Before he could talk himself out of it, he walked over to it and sat down turning it on as he did so. He needed to know where she was and why she'd go in the first place, because right now it seemed more and more likely that she wasn't really visiting an old friend. Lucas thought he knew all of his mother's friends, and none of them ever mentioned one that left Tree Hill...

As he longed into his mother's e-mail address (the password being his birth date), he searched through her latest e-mails to see if he could find anything that would tell him where she was. To his surprise, his mother had a lot of e-mails from one person that he would have least expected (besides if it had been his father, Dan)...

Brooke Davis.

He knew that e-mail from during the time they had dated. What he couldn't understand would be why she would be e-mailing his mother after months of no word from her since she left Tree Hill. At that thought, Lucas's eyes widened in confusion before clicking on the latest e-mail Brooke had sent his mother (only a few days before she left).

Hey!

I'm so excited about Thursday... I can't wait to see you again... and I know my friends here have been dying to see you as well. LOL. Bobby's been curious to meet you as well, along with Sam and Dean. Seriously, thank you for coming. You're the one person I'm really glad to have coming.

Sam and Dean are staying for the week once they come back from another fishing trip with my uncle. They still try to fish even though they suck at it, LOL.

Anyway, I've finally decided on a name... but I'm going to keep it a secret. ;) I want it to be a surprise to you guys. But I think you'll like it...

Well, I better go - I still need to clean up a little. See ya Wednesday!

Love, Brooke

Lucas stared in confusion at Brooke's e-mail... almost none of it made sense. Why would his mom visit Brooke? Why would she need to finally decide on a name? Who was Sam and Dean? The only good thing that he found out in this e-mail was that he now knew who his mother was visiting.

Curious as to why his mother and Brooke would be in contact since they weren't very close during the time he went out with her, Lucas checked to see if his mother had added any folders for Brooke's e-mails since he knew his mom liked to save e-mails from people she knew and liked to keep them organized in different folders. He thanked the higher powers that his mom did the same with Brooke when he saw the folder with her name on it. He clicked on it and opened one from a month ago.

Hey,

Not much has been going on lately - normal stuff, I'm assuming which you know about already. I talked to Sam today, and he says he'll be coming back once they finish their job down in Texas. I miss him and I can't wait until he gets back. It's been almost a month since I've last saw him.

I guess the reason I'm e-mailing you would be to find out about Luke... How is Lucas doing? And Haley and the others? You know sometimes I do regret never telling them the truth... at least in instances like right now when I want to call them to see how they're doing. However I just can't... I'm just not ready even though I wish I could be. I hate not knowing. However, those instances are getting fewer... and I think Sam and Dean are helping. They're not ALWAYS here, but if they aren't here than they call or e-mail me, especially Sam. If it hadn't been for them, Bobby, you, or my friends here, I don't think I would have been able to make it this far.

Woah... that was really deep... heh, sorry about that. Guess it’s those pregnancy hormones are talking.

Well I have cravings of cookie dough ice cream calling my name, I'll talk to you soon, right? You'll still be going to the baby shower right?

Love, Brooke & Baby ;)

Lucas stared at the computer screen in shock. Brooke was pregnant. Brooke Davis was pregnant. His mind could barely comprehend that, just like it had when she had told him months ago for the first time.

"But she said she lied! She said she wasn't pregnant!" He shouted angrily, slamming his hands against the table.

He quickly exited the browser and shut down the computer. He backed away from the computer and ran out of the house. He needed time to think... he needed time to breath and realize just what this meant.

Chapter 6 - Fathers

The rest of September came and passed without any show from the demon with yellow eyes. During that time, however, Bobby explained to Brooke how to defend herself from demons ("Christo" and holy water) at her own demand ("It happened once and it'll happen again! I need to know how to defend myself Bobby!"). Bobby had thought that as soon as Brooke would learn the truth about his hunts and about Sam and Dean that she would go back to Tree Hill and try to forget anything like this happening. However, Brooke wanted to stay there with Bobby saying that she would feel safer with him, Sam and Dean than she would at home where she had no one (besides Karen) that knew how to defend themselves against the demon who'd threatened he'd be back. So in the end they didn't argue since it was true despite the fact that had Brooke never moved in with her uncle (and met the brothers) she might have never been threatened by the yellow eyed demon in the first place. They didn't lie to her anymore, however they also didn't give details to her either and she didn't complain. However she was worried every time Sam and Dean left for another hunt (Bobby stayed home with her now) until they were back at the house completely safe. During this time, Bobby showed Brooke the panic room in the basement which he had began working on years ago. It allowed Brooke some sort of relief that, however her worries (and her stress) never stopped (at least not until Sam was with her).

The relative peace broke in late October when Sam and Dean learn about Daniel Elkins, an old friend of the family, death. When they get his house they found it had been ransacked and a journal not unlike the one their father had with a message to go to a post office box. After following the message, they find John Winchester who after reading the letter Elkins had left for him finds out that Elkins had The Colt, a legendary gun created by Samuel Colt for the purposes of killing supernatural creatures, after reading the letter that whoever had killed Elkins had the gun. John soon after learns that it was vampires. After killing the vampire and getting the Colt back, the Winchester boys decided to go after the yellow eyed demon... this time together. And while their arguments still happened, Sam and John tried to keep them to the minimum, especially around Brooke.

Nearly two weeks later, the brothers got a phone call from Meg (a demon whom Sam had met months prior) saying that she had killed John. Despite that, Dean hadn't believed her and as they tried to formulate a plan to save their father Meg burst through the door. Meg, however, ended up getting caught in a Devil's Trap. Sam reads the ritual to exorcise the demon out of girl's body, while Dean questioned Meg about John. The demon said that John was dead until her exorcise was finished and the only thing left was the dying human who gave them the clue ("sunrise") they needed to find their father.

Brooke thankfully was down in the panic room throughout the whole time (trying to liven it up a bit) and was unharmed. Sam and Dean left quickly towards Jefferson City and managed to save their father only to find out that he was possessed by the yellow eyed demon. However Sam managed to shoot the possessed John in the leg both saving his father and allowing the demon to escape. On the way back to the hospital to take care of John's leg and Dean's internal bleeding caused by the demon, a large truck crashes into the Impala.

Sam manages to contact the ambulance and they arrive soon after and took the three of them to the Sioux Falls Hospital. Bobby and Brooke arrived at the hospital soon after Sam paid them a visit asking for John's list of ingredients for a summoning spell. With the help of a Ouija Board, Sam managed to get into contact with Dean and found out that a reaper was after him. Meanwhile John summons the yellow eyed demon in the basement and deals with the demon. His life for Dean's. Soon after (while Brooke and Bobby are out getting something to eat) Dean manages to recover and awakens to find his brother and father in front of his bed. Sick of arguing, John sends Sam to get some coffee.

"Take care of Sam, Dean." John stated before whispering something into his son's ear before leaving the room to confront the demon. A few minutes later, Sam found him collapsed in his hospital room. Despite the doctor's best efforts, their father was dead.

Sam turned around and found Brooke staring in shock at the scene behind the brothers. Looking up into Sam's eyes, Brooke felt tears start to fall as she managed to walk as fast as her pregnancy would allow her to him. Sam gathered her into his arms as tears fell from his eyes. She shut her eyes as she squeezed as hard as she could in an attempt to comfort him.

It was nearly ten minutes later that Brooke realized that they were in the middle of the hallway and in the way of the hospital staff, she broke away her embrace and led him into Dean's room. Sam reluctantly moved away from her when they entered the room. Bobby moved to comfort, his face grim as he gripped the younger man's shoulder. Brooke studied Dean's face, finding it nearly stoic. A few tears fell down her cheeks as she starred at the older Winchester brother. She knew he acted like he didn't care or that it didn't hurt him, but in reality he was hurting and she knew his heart broke as the only other person he loved besides Sam was now dead. She carefully laced her arms around him in an awkward embrace.

Dean's face clouded as grief threatened to spill and to hide it from the others he buried his face into Brooke. More tears fell as she felt Dean's wetting her t-shirt.

Brooke winced as a sudden pain started in her stomach, as soon as it left her, her eyes widened.

***

After staying with Brooke at Bobby's for the week and a half for her ankle heel enough so that she could walk on it, Karen left her reluctantly. She didn't want Brooke to be in any sort of danger especially since she was pregnant, however she understood Brooke's reasons in staying with her uncle and the Winchester brothers. Returning home, not much had changed although she was a lot more conscious and bought a lot more salt then she used to. Lucas gave her odd looks but said nothing about why whenever she asked him about it. He didn't speak to her as often as he had before as he spent most of his time with Peyton, Haley, Nathan, along with his river court friends. Her mother instincts told her something was wrong, however he wouldn't confirm anything with her and she left it alone hoping that eventually Lucas would come to her when he was ready.

Instead, she concentrated on Brooke... making sure Brooke was alright nearly every day mostly by phone calls but also through e-mails. She worried about how stressed Brooke was and forced the teenager to take frequent relaxing baths and to stay in bed or in the panic room (which she thanked the heavens Bobby had made).

When the phone rang, Karen quickly answered it hoping it was Brooke letting her know that everything was alright and that Dean had recovered.

"Karen?"

"Bobby?" Karen asked, confused. He never really called her, letting Brooke do it herself. "What happened?"

Karen's concerned voice greeted Lucas as he entered the kitchen. He silently studied his mom as she waited for the other person on the phone to answer.

"Brooke's in labor, we just wanted to let you know."

"Oh god, is she alright? Her due date isn't until the end of the month!" Karen nearly shouted, silently praying that Brooke and the baby was alright. Lucas's eyes widened in shock as he realized just who his mother was talking to. Brooke was in labor.

"Yeah, the doctors are sayin' she's doing good. They believe it was just the stress of..." Bobby paused causing Karen to gasp in concern.

"Is Sam and Dean alright? Oh god, what happened?"

"No, no their find... John didn't make it though."

"But he was just fine when Brooke called a few hours ago!"

"He was... but Dean wasn't. He must have made a deal with the demon to save Dean's life with his own life. Anyway, I've got to go, will we be expecting you?"

"Of course, I'll get there as soon as I can. Will you keep me updated if anything happens?" After confirmed he would, they said quick good byes. Karen hung up the phone and turned around, nearly having a heart attack when she found Lucas standing only a few feet away. She had been so focused on the phone and Bobby that she hadn't even heard him enter the room. "Lucas!"

"I want to come with you," Lucas simply stated causing Karen's eyes to widen in shock.

"You know?" Karen asked and Lucas nodded with a desperate nod. Taking a deep breath, Karen nodded in return. "Pack quickly, I'll get the plane tickets."

Even if Brooke was ready to Lucas about being pregnant, it was too late. She only hoped the two of them didn't start a fight once Brooke finds out that he knew and was going to be there. Brooke nor the baby needed the extra stress. Karen could only pray that both Brooke and her granddaughter be alright.

***

"How is she doc?" Bobby questioned as the doctor left Brooke's room. Sam stood beside him, waiting anxiously to hear about Brooke. Dean was still in his room as neither the nurses or doctors would allow him to move since his miraculous recovery.

"She's going to be just fine, we were worried before when you told us how much stress she's been having these past few months, however, so far everything is right on track, Mr. Singer. She's in there resting as much as she can until she's ready. If you wish to go in, she said you two could come in." The doctor stated before nodded a good bye to the men and left. Sam quickly entered the room to find Brooke changed in a hospital gown and her eyes shut with her head resting against her pillow. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw her chest moving up and down.

Opening her eyes, she was greeted by the sight of Sam and Bobby, she smiled up at them.

"How are you? Do you want anything?" Sam asked, softly, sitting down in the chair beside her bed. Brooke shook her head.

"I'm as good as I can be, I guess. The doctors say that she's alright despite all the stress." Brooke stated, a relieved smile gracing her lips as she touched her large stomach. "It's going to be so weird without this bump, you know?"

"Yeah it will," Sam agreed with a small smile (the first since his father's death), "although I can't wait to meet your daughter."

"I can't either," Brooke said with a small laugh before letting out a large groan as another contraction occurred. "I can't wait to see how the labor pains feel like."

They let out a laugh at Brooke's sarcasm, "You'll do great," Bobby stated before kissing her forehead. "I'm going to go and let Dean what the doctor said. Alright?"

Brooke nodded gratefully, "Make sure he's alright... and make sure he stay's in that bed. I don't want him to hurt himself further."

"Of course, ma'am," Bobby joked softly before nodding to Sam and left the room. Sam turned back to face Brooke who grinned softly to him.

"Will stay with me? Until the doctor comes, I mean..." Brooke questioned, hopefully. His presence allowed her to relax because she knew he would keep her and her baby safe.

"Of course, I'll be at your side for as long as you want me too." Sam promised with a smile, resting his hand on hers. She moved hers so she could hold his causing his smile to turn into a grin.

"Did you call Karen?" Brooke questioned as soon as remembered.

"Bobby got into contact with her as soon as the nurses took you yesterday, she should get here in a few hours."

"Thank god, I was hoping she'll be here."

***

"Lucas, maybe you should wait until after the baby is born... Brooke really doesn't need any more stress than she already has. It isn't good for the baby." Karen stated glancing over to her son as they took the elevator up the Brooke's room. Lucas let out a frustrated sigh and nodded.

"Why couldn't she have told me the truth?" Lucas questioned finally, frustration tears welling up in his eyes, unable to take it any longer. The question had been killing him since he had found out about Brooke.

Karen hated to see her son like this, and while the whole time during Brooke's pregnancy she had wished her son had known, she couldn't help but admire Brooke's strength as she handled things by herself. Even without Bobby's and the Winchester boys's help, she knew Brooke would have done good. Possibly even better than she had for she was still a wreck practically up to Lucas's birth. Karen pulled her son into a hug, knowing he needed one as she herself needed one.

They stood like that until they heard the ping sounding that they were about reach the their floor. After pulling away, Karen pulled out a letter she had been holding all these months. The first and only letter she had from Brooke.

"This is the letter she gave me telling me about the baby, I want you to read it." Karen stated softly before left as the doors opened, hoping to find Sam or Bobby. Lucas quickly got of as well and nearly tore the note apart to read it.

***

After hours of labor, Brooke Davis gave birth to a healthy six pounds ten ounces and nineteen inches baby girl at five forty on November 3, 2006.

"She's beautiful, Brooke," Bobby stated with a rare smile on his face as he held his niece's baby girl. Brooke grinned tiredly.

"Well, she does take after Brooke," Sam agreed, letting out a small chuckle as Brooke swatted him.

"You better believe it," Brooke stated before letting out a laugh. Bobby reluctantly gave the baby to her mother. "You are absolutely gorgeous, aren't you?" The only thing that answered her was a baby's coo and someone gently knocking on the door. Brooke looked up and the grin on her face widened. "Karen!"

"Brooke, how are you doing?" Karen asked as she moved closer when she saw the baby in Brooke's arms. "Oh Brooke, she look's beautiful."

"Of course she does, and I'm completely and utterly happy." Brooke stated causing Karen's smile to wane just a tiny bit as guilt settled in her stomach knowing that Brooke might not be as happy as she was currently once she found out about Lucas. Brooke's smile lowered as she watched Karen's wane. She stared confused up at the older woman. "What's wrong?"

Sam and Bobby glanced over to Karen in confusion, causing the older woman to flush. "Lucas... he knows."

Brooke let out a surprised gasp, causing her to nearly hold her baby girl closer to her. "How did he-?"

"I don't know, he's here, I'm sorry Brooke." Karen stated simply, causing Brooke to nod. She knew Karen meant it and she knew that she had been ready for this moment... she just hadn't wanted to confront it... they had left on such bad terms Brooke was afraid of his reaction. Afraid of him rejecting her and their baby girl. Sam studied Brooke's face as she silently contemplated everything. He was worried about her and he hoped she was going to be alright. He had never met Lucas but he'd hope the guy wasn't going to start something today...

"Can you get him? I'd like to show him his daughter," Brooke stated softly with a small smile in encouragement. Karen nodded, before reluctantly leaving the room. Bobby quickly followed her.

***

Lucas stood up as soon as his mother opened the door and was surprised to find an older man with a grim look following her.

"You Lucas?" Bobby asked, causing the younger teen to nod. Bobby walked closer to him. "I swear to god if you hurt my niece or her girl I will hurt you. I don't care if you're Karen's son or the kid's father. They hurt? You hurt." Bobby stated before brushing past the man and back into the room.

Lucas swallowed his spit, knowing from the man's stance and voice that he wasn't joking with his threat. He glanced over to his mother who nodded in agreement before taking her son's hand and entered Brooke's room.

The first person he saw when he entered the room was Bobby who was near the entrance with his arms folded over his chest. As they walked closer to the bed, Karen stayed beside Bobby and Lucas continued. He found another man this time one that looked only a few years older than he was sitting in a chair beside the bed holding Brooke... and his daughter. From this far, the baby looked so tiny and Brooke looked beautiful despite the sweat that had graced her forehead and the worried look she was giving her - no - their daughter. When Sam stood up, Lucas realized that the man was just a few inches taller than himself. As Sam glanced down to Brooke, Brooke glanced back with a small smile before facing Lucas for the first time in nearly eight months.

"Brooke," Lucas stated, unsure of what else to say. His eyes were begging for forgiveness, something Brooke knew a lot of. She smiled at him in return. She knew exactly how awkward all of this was and didn't know what else to say to him. She didn't want to get upset any more tonight, so she decided to reveal what she had been waiting to do since she decided on it.

"Everyone, please meet Lucy Karen Davis-Scott." Brooke stated as she stared at Lucas causing rounds of grins throughout the rest of the group.

Karen felt a few tears swell as she heard her granddaughter's name for the first time. She hadn't expected Brooke to name her girl after either her or Lucas. Lucas, enjoyed, walked closer to the bed.

"It's beautiful, Brooke... she's beautiful," Lucas whispered, causing Brooke to smile in return.

"Do you want to hold her?" Brooke questioned, holding Lucy a little higher in encouragement to Lucas. He stared at her in shock before nodding, moving closer so that he could receive Lucy. Sam stood back and reluctantly watched as Lucas held his daughter for the first time. Sam's mind wondered briefly if he would ever experience that feeling before he banished that thought.

"Bobby?" Brooke questioned, glancing over to her uncle who faced her in answer. She smiled softly, "Could you tell Dean? I'm sure he's waiting to hear how Lucy is. And tell him I'll visit him as soon as they let me."

Bobby nodded with a smile before turning and left the room. Karen smiled at Sam and Brooke before quickly following after Bobby, wanting to know how Dean was. Lucas continued to stare in awe at Lucy, nearly forgetting about everyone else. Brooke grinned, relieved that Lucas wasn't disgusted or angry (not that she really expected him to be, but she had nightmares that he had been which had made her worry), and turned to face Sam who studied Lucas and Lucy together. Maybe her hormones were still messed up (probably), but she could have sworn she saw envy flash through Sam's eyes as he watched the two. Wanting to comfort him, Brooke lifted her hand and captured his with her own. He glanced down at her in surprise, causing her grin to widen.

Brooke Davis, for the first time in months, thought that maybe just maybe, she would end up having a happy ending... as long as Sam Winchester and Lucy were in her life, she couldn't ask for more.

THE END.
