Wow. It's still really, really bleak. And much creepier. The remark about her being not a person, but a hat for the company's magic rabbit? Set my insides to churning. This is definitely difficult television.
Of course, it didn't help that halfway through I realized that the murderous customer was the guy who played the 'Middleman' (from the tv show Middleman!) He buffed up a little. Also, that raised the subplot's creep factor by at least a power of 3.
And does that mean that the people Alpha killed in the first episode were Echo's parents? Hmmm.
The only sour note in this cinema of the damned is the cop. Every scene he's in seems contrived and almost like a parody of old cop shows - and yet, it looks like they mean it to be taken as straight text.
I'm still not sure how I feel, but I'm interested in what will happen next. (And unlike whatshisname from Angel, I'll be happy to see this cheerfully amoral scientist get the crap beat out of him on numerous occasions.)
And then, we watched BSG:
Manly said, "Will you check the credits for Marti Noxon's name?" ::snort:: Yes, there was way too much sexual drama. Way. too. much. But at the end of the episode, it looked like they were heading in a direction that will actually bring about an interesting resolution, but honestly, I'm not sure they have enough time left to tell it properly.
Baltar's plotline was interesting. He's got some good impulses, but he's still a class A manipulator, and he's still a horndog.
