::hearts:: Oh, yay! Thank you! This is a really interesting concept that I never thought of, but totally makes sense- Tony setting up baby geniuses who kind of owe him.

Reed is delightfully awkward and SO unimpressed with Tony. Awesome.

Thank you again! (And thanks for the help with mine. :))

I'm glad you like it! I'm really sorry I couldn't write one of your other requests, but mercenaries and the military aren't really in my wheelhouse. :-/ But I tried to make Reed as in-character as possible, and it was fun to play with a scenario that could never exist in the comics.

Now I'm off to read your revised fic!

Very enjoyable to read. It makes me wonder: will the Illuminati ever exist in the movieverse? Also:

Tony had never met a rule that he believed applied to him

is just one of these genius lines summing up a character.

Thank you! I'm very glad you liked it.

I actually hadn't thought of the Illuminati connection at all -- with this fic, I was trying to take it as far away from comicsverse as possible, which is why I focused on their ages (the biggest change from the comics, since there Reed is significantly older than Tony). But now I'm wondering if there could be an Illuminati, and how exactly that would work. Huh.

Oh, this is so well done. You nailed Tony, and I'm not so well up on the FF, but Reed came across perfectly too - diametric opposites socially who still work together perfectly.

Reed still couldn’t imagine successfully having sex with a girl, of any age, though he had accomplished conversations once or twice in the last few years.

Oh, thank you! Tony was surprisingly hard to write, so I'm glad it worked for you. And awkward Reed was tons of fun to write.

I can't say how much I love the idea that Tony cultivates these little coteries of genius. It makes so much sense that he would try to build a society of like-minded people, and also that he would be a bit surprised when they're not actually like him at all. I love the way that Reed quietly moves away from the centre of Tony's attention, and that their friendship is the stronger for it.

Awesome fic! (I'm from a science background, and I think your comicbook science held up just fine!)

Oh, thank you! I'm very glad this worked for you. When I was creating this I took to calling it "The fic in which Tony is Slughorn," which isn't entirely accurate because Tony actually DOES have something to offer these kids -- he's not just collecting them, he's trying to mold them. Whether or not it's effective is to be judged later.

And I'm glad the science worked! I haven't even heard the word molality since high school, so I was worried!

Oh, thank you! I'm really glad it worked -- and you're totally right about Tony's loneliness, which is part of the reason he stalks Reed and the others. I'm glad that came across. :)
