Tony Stark fic?

I don't know where this came from. I probably won't post it to communities or anything, since it's so short, and also really random. 228-words, Tony Stark-centric fic. Tentative title is "Paying for His Sins," though that probably makes it sound more thoughtful than it actually is (when really it's just a play on the word "paying" and a reference to something likeadeuce once said about Tony, Young Avengers, and Catholic school). PG-13ish, I think - implications of sexual activities, but no actual sex. Post Civil War: The Confession. Very possibly completely out of character.

Paying for His Sins

Tony Stark has had many meaningful relationships in his life. But, at the end of the day, he’s still a billionaire playboy, and billionaire playboys don’t get their reputations from serial monogamy. He’s had his fair share of one-night stands and short-lived affairs, and, when the mood’s struck and he’s needed a more immediate release, he’s seen his fair share of hookers, too. Blondes, redheads, and brunettes, women and men of all shapes and ethnicities-he’s never been picky. And he doesn’t see any shame in it. To his eyes, they’re not unlike him: regular people selling their services for the good of others and a hefty profit, hiding behind a false identity for protection.

He doesn’t have a false identity anymore, but it’s still not unusual when, a few days after the funeral at Arlington, Tony puts in a phone call and arranges a hooker for that evening at an anonymous four-star hotel room. He doesn’t list any requirements or particulars; his craving is for inconsequential human contact, and anyone could provide that. Half an hour later, the prostitute knocks on his door. He’s tall and blonde, sharp musculature delineated under the clinging fabric of his t-shirt.

“Hi,” he says. “I’m Steve.”

Without meeting his eyes (which are thankfully, frustratingly brown), Tony slips several hundred-dollar bills into the hooker’s hand and closes the door in his face.

In other news, I'm home on spring break, attempting to get caught up on theatrical_muse, and blithely ignoring the 2 papers and JP work I really need to do over the course of this week.
