A Snapey Playlist

My friend and co-beta Djinn swears by writing while listening to appropriate music. She knows I have a wide song collection but not a clue about these things--so she made me a playlist to make a compilation to listen to while writing my WIP. I think though it works for any Hermione/Snape story--and I loved her list so much I thought I'd share it, ( Read more... )

I do not recognize a single artist but one, Alison Krauss.

My SS/HG tunes are wonky-

Witchcraft- sung by sinatra (beacause it's strictly taboo)

Back on the chain gang- the pretenders The lyrics describe a train and a war and deception.

Ce La Vie - ELP (seductive is all I can say)

King of Pain - Police (so many snape songs by this group and they are not a fave of mine)

Man in Black - Johnny Cash (snape song)

Walking after Midnight- Patsy Cline (for HG)

Heh--don't forget Police's "Don't Stand So Close to Me"

Young teacher, the subject
Of schoolgirl fantasy
She wants him so badly
Knows what she wants to be
Inside her theres longing
This girls an open page
Book marking - shes so close now
This girl is half his age

Dont stand, dont stand so
Dont stand so close to me

But yeah, Djinn's collection is eclectic--and she's responsible for a lot of my collection in her recs and even gifts of CDs so... Few of these are artists I'd have got to know w/o her. Vienna Teng's voice in particularly is lovely. Look up sometime her song "Lullaby for a Stormy Night"
