It can certainly wait--thanks Droxy, for all your nudges and support--it meant a lot--I couldn't really in the end let go of this. I'll try to get Chapter 9 done fast. (Still have to catch up on all the Exchange stories--about a dozen behind--I would have to post in the middle of it.

Welcome back, not so mysterious author. Chapter 8 is as good as all the 7 before and I have no choice but to forsake sleep in order to make the illustration I promised. Anticipating the joys of chapter 9 will help.
Have you seen that your gift was posted and there is no "leave comment" link at the end of either of the two chapters? It is a good story and I am rather worried about the absence of comments.

That's very kind of you--and I'll try to get 9 done a lot more quickly.

I adored my Exchange giftie--I want to take time to catch up but once I did I wanted to point people that way. I myself fedback the story, and had no problem commenting.

yay! I'm so glad this chapter has finally been posted. It is certainly my favourite one to date.

Really? Thanks--it really was the hardest one to write, but the one I had envisioned from the beginning that all the earlier chapters were leading to in my mind. For me this was really key--becasue the Hermione of HBP disturbs me far more than the Snape.

I knew that I adored this story, but I had forgotten just how much. I always wondered about why Hermione's actions were never questioned in HBP. I really hope that you have become inspired to keep going with this story again.

The dialogue is spot on, questioning how motives can make all the difference to the one performing the action, but the outcome is still the same. Whether we are talking about this story, or whether we apply it to life in general, sometimes it is hard to see your actions objectively in the harsh light they deserve.

Guh. Just. Guh. So nice!

Hermione in HBP really bothers me a lot more than the Snape--I came out of HBP liking Snape more than I went in, for the first time convinced he was on the side of good, sympathetic and intrigued. The Hermione perplexed and disappointed me--for me what she did was a character assasination along the lines of Spike, Buffy, and the bathroom floor--for those of us Spike fans who followed Buffy. So in BOS I always had two tracks I think--to capture the side of Snape I saw not just in HBP but the fanfic I read early on--and to try to explain Hermione--and I've yet to read a fanfic that tries to wrestle with what she did even all that time postHBP--Snape, yes--her no.

That's for all the lovely compliments--I'll try hard to keep it alive.

Cruel, Author, cruel. I kept clipping on the link to go to chapter 9 and it went no where.

Found this story via clare009 and have been sucked in. I'm on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happens next.

And while clare009 is an excellent and reliable messenger, I prefer to go straight to the source. Consider this a friending.

Wow. I got a review and friending from LilithJ *dances*

Well, I am trying to continue this. In return :cough: well, there's this certain WIP called "Golem" :ducks:

Yes, I know. I've started the re-read and re-edit. I have, but there's things to distract me -- like exhange ficcage.

Also, the Indexa, I want one.

Yay! Clare did mention you were thinking of bringing that fic back to life, which is why I thought I'd tug at your sleeve. And since I know from your profile you're a librarian, I can just imagine you liking that indexia. ::laughs::

And yeah, the Exchange is just providing waaaaaaaayyyy too much distraction. Start on Chapter 9? With all those lovely ficcey's to read?
