Of course I want a drabble from you, but I am much too busy to make the offer in return... Although... I could make them New Years drabbles, and get it done after Xmas. That'd work, right? Hmmm...

In that case, I'll take a Spuffy. And let's make the prompt -- popcorn. :D

I'll post my own offer later tonight, or tommorow.

Spike walked Buffy home. Even in Doublemeat uniform she looked good enough to eat. She tossed popcorn into her mouth, throwing each one higher and higher into the air.

He grinned at her. "Oh, good move, Slayer, you killed it." With a dart of his tongue, he intercepted a kernel from her.

"Hey, did I invite you to share?" She glared.

All to the good. She's even better after being wound up a bit.

When he tried again, she surprised him by following the prize down, darting her own tongue into his mouth. "Hmmm buttery goodness, melts into your mouth."

Aww. So cute. Yay! How are you so quick? Also, god--Doublemeat. I had put that out of my mind.

My first fandom love. Spuffy! How I miss you!

Awww. And quick's the point--this is supposed to be an exercise in short-circuiting the nerves that lead to writer's block.

And yeah, I've rather *tried* to forget Doublemeat, but for some reason that canon Spike/Buffy pre-bathroom floor period stuck in my mind as the setting. You know, for all I love Buffy, even betaed it since my friend and one of my betas sometimes writes in it, this is actually my first Buffy fic--well, if a drabble counts.

Ironic, since my moniker is kinda reminiscent of a certain Buffy/Angel character...

OK, HP, Hermione/Lupin, keyword: Holidays

Remus tried not to let his edginess show. It might be Yule, but it was also the eve of the full moon, when he was on the cusp between man and beast. And if he had one more woman come up to him and say "nice doggie" or make allusions to the "big bad wolf," he might bite first, get Wolfsbane later.

A fetching figure, face hidden by a red hood edged with white fur, caught his eye. Well, for this red riding hood... The face emerged from the hood. Hermione. Hmm, not a little girl anymore. Worth a whistle.

*grins* "Big bad wolf" indeed. Mixing Grimm and HP now, very nice take and imagery.

Hard to resist, given all those Politically Correct tales you told us...

Back at you.

You know, I think I'll branch out. ST:Voyager. Janeway / Chakotay. (Okay, I'm guessing that's not branching out very far in that fandom, but the fandom jump itself is a big branch for me!) And for a keyword: celestial.

"The Celestial Temple." Janeway snorted and glared at him.

"After all we have seen together, you're still so scornful about spiritual beliefs?"

"Especially after everything we've seen. The kind who sees the faces of gods and demons in overwhelming power is exactly the kind who agrees resistance is futile."

"Then the Bajorans should have given up. But they never did. They were always the core of the Maquis. Faith isn't a weakness." He took her hands.

"No." Her single word sounded like a repudiation, an accusation, that her faith in him had been a weakness. But she didn't let go.

Ooh - lovely. It's been ages since I've watched any ST, but I can completely envision this! It seems very in-character on both their parts, and so (bitter)sweet. Thank you, thank you!

And I must say, I'm amazed you got these done already. The holidays (and our company, more specifically) are wreaking havoc with my writing and beta reading.

Back to finishing my own drabbles now.

I hadn't seen Trek in ages but coincidentally just before you asked for this I caught a VOY ep, "Scorpion" the episode that was basically the beginning of the end of the canon relationship between Janeway and Chakotay when Seven came on board so...

The idea of these as a writing exercise is to not censor. I start writing these as soon as I see the prompt and so far (counting not just this round but the other Drabble meme months ago) I haven't had a problem having something within minutes. The idea with the drabbles is really just let go--something I wish I could do more with my longer fiction.

This might help me lure my muse back. And I'd love a drabble... Snape/OFC (store clerk wishing him a "Merry or Happy Christmas". Country of your choice.

Off to put this in my LJ.

"I'm telling you he's strange."

She shrugged. You had to be strange to live here, scant miles from the magnetic North Pole.

Roger's face blanched, and he hurried away.

She turned. "Hello, Severin. So, latest theory is you're a vampire. I guess 'cause any who'd move to where it's night six months a year…" She quickly rang up his purchases, wishing just once she could get him to smile.

"Actually, I'm exiled for having killed Santa Claus."

"And you're sentenced here to replace him?"

His scowl did not suggest Saint Nick.

"Merry Christmas" she called wistfully to his retreating back.

I'm glad you like it, from my favorite writer who writes SS/OFC I'll take that as quite the compliment. LOL. Everyone's been throwing me quite the challenge.

Oh, these are too fun. Love especially the popcorn-tongue battle. AND Severus's holiday crime. (Somehow I can really see him loving the cold, what with the arctic gusts whipping his heavy black cloak. Never mind the frolicking polar bears)

Can I have one too?
Firefly, Jayne/River, gun oil and soda pop?

Well, for you! Funny you asking for an older/younger pairing though I admit I don't really get the appeal. Yet Dyce is really into it, my beta Djinn dabbles in it and you too? Glad you liked polar bear Snape;-)

Jayne oiled Vera slowly, taking care on all her parts. The sound of a tab being pulled and the fizz of soda pop made his heart hammer even before he looked up. Wasn’t Vera who was the most dangerous woman on Serenity. He tried to grab on to the whaddayacallit, the safe word, but no matter how hard he tried, the word wouldn’t come and he wondered if she was messing-

“No, I wouldn’t. I’ve been broken down, oiled, put together and it all fits. Safety on.”

But her smile told him she could still be perilous in other ways.

Ah. After my sister's dark chocolate truffles, this is my next favorite christmas present. Yum!

Love the way he struggles for the safe word, REALLY REALLY love the way she compares herself to Vera, and adore the closing, treacherous smile.

Sooooo good!
