I haven't been getting alerts either, so I think it's ffn not you that has the problem!

There was something about them not sending out alerts for higher rated stories. someone mentioned it, but I've not heard / seen anything official.

Oh, joy--there goes the neighborhood. They going to purge M-rated stories next? I just checked the home page though--you'd think they'd announce something like that and there's nothing.

It's just a rumour. It doesn't make it true....

And they may have a point. I keep coming across very x-rated material on there, and if you are actually driven to notify that it's above the site's rules (kiddie porn really shouldn't be on there) it takes a long time for anything to be done about it. If they don't send out notifications for older rated stuff, people might cut down on posting it.

"There are rumours you're actually intelligent."

Poor Hermione - she don't get no respect. ;-)

I don't know what to say about ffnet, except that I just now tried to log-in and it wouldn't let me. My new account there is only a few months old, and I rarely use it, but I've never had a log-in problem before. I guess it's possible someone could hijack a page. Very little on the internet really surprises me anymore.

My friend was able to upload hers, and I've just been getting some email alerts--but not all. None for Dyce's story have caught up with me for instance. I'm really not sure what's going on with the site still.

Marguerite gave a shrug, then took out a handkerchief. She transfigured it with a series of flicks of her wand until it came to resemble one of those extendable ears.

*snerk* I'm loving Marguerite more and more. And the hair-chewing was an especially nice touch.

Marguerite grew on me. I think that's why Mary Sue's grow out of hand, especially if you make them the love interest. It can be far too fun to create your own characters, so if you don't severely discipline them...
