Oh, choices of fandom, I'm giddy. Let's see, since I am venturing out during this drabble meme, I would like a Star Trek drabble, either TNG or the original series (whatever those initials are).

Janice Rand greeted Christine with eyes puffy and red-rimmed from crying. She held her arms stiffly at her sides, afraid one word of sympathy would break her apart.

Everyone had kept at a distance since Kirk had died, even Sulu. What do you say to a woman grieving for a man who'd never loved her back, who she never really knew? Those who lose a lover or spouse have dignity; those grieving for a lost crush are pathetic.

Chapel pulled her into a fierce hug and whispered into her ear: "I know."

Chapel did. And that made all the difference.

That was quick. Isn't it after 3:00am there? So, this was a nice surprise to get it tonight--thank you, thank you. Very angsty and very well done. I really like the ending.

LOL. Well, yeah, but when insomnia strikes--and thats the good thing about drabbles--they're quick enough to overide writer's block centers.

It was fun to go back to my roots--haven't done Trek in ages.

Oh, this seems like fun, though I'm overextended. I'll play anyway.

I would like a Ginny drabble, but I want her to be evil. If that's too much of a request (it's more than just a character), I will completely understand -- let me have a Princess Leia. :)

Duh, I can't read -- I read Star Trek for Star Wars -- in that case my second choice would be a Dr. McCoy. (and come by and request one from me) :P

I managed--managed well is a different story--but it was fun. Drabbles being quick are good ways to bypass writer's block.

And I'll definately come by and request one from you. :cackle: I'll sleep on it. You're too good a writer to waste my request.

Ginny closed her eyes, her nostrils dilating at the smell of blood. She drew the dagger out of Harry who just dropped, clutching his side, his green eyes wide.

"Did you really think it was you I loved? You killed Tom! I wasn't dying in the Chamber--we each gave a bit of our souls to each other. We could have been together. We can still be together now. I'm not a silly little girl you know."

She spun around at a heavy hand clamped on her shoulder to find herself held at wandpoint by Snape.

"I beg to differ."

Oooh, that's very generous and brave of you! So let's see...

"Professor "Moody" as a colleague"

Sorry, I'm in a vicious mood today ;}

Moody strode through Hogwarts castle. He was still seething that Arthur Weasley, that soft-hearted dunce, had been chosen over him as the new leader of the Order.

And now, this conversation he'd overheard between McGonagall and Dumbledore's portrait.

Innocent? Innocent his arse. Snape hadn't been innocent since coming out of the womb. He smiled patting his pocket where he'd secreted some of Snape's things. Just because he fought the Dark didn't mean he wouldn't use their means. A poppet made with some odds of hair, a scrap of a bloodied robe he'd found...

Yes. His so-called colleague would suffer...

That's absolutely delicious! I do enjoy dark Moody in general, I think he really has this potential - and behold, here is Dark!Moody in his best!

I'm proud I can post it on my lj - just as the lunch pause comes. Thanks!

Actually, it's not the drabble, but the challenge you have to post on your lj--you've just committed yourself to write drabbles at request. :wild cackle:

Glad you liked mine;-)

Since I've just finished reading your drabbles... and noticed there might be some room left... does this mean you'll write a Harry/Hermione for me? ::bats her eyelashes:: Please? Pretty please ( ... )

Heh heh. For you, anything.

The drabbles? Rand crushed on Kirk, the way Chapel did on Spock. Snape inserted himself into Evil!Ginny once again proving he's a shameful scene-stealer! Percy I sometimes feel for, Moody I just find too scary precisely because he was willing to use the unforgivables. I don't see my Lucius upset at because he no longer shares those ideals, but precisely because he no longer sees being tied to that tryrant as advantageous

What a great meme this has been. I think it should happen every couple of months, just for the practice.

I agree--whether as a reader or a writer I can't remember a meme on LJ that's been so much damn fun--as I said before, I'm also so glad so many have made requests stretching us beyond our comforts zone.

Speaking of which, I have a new ship to try out in 100 words...

Good luck on the project!

The project is now speeding apace without my help for a day or so. Now I have hostess duties to perform, but no more today. I am too tired to write even though I have a number of things swirling in my brain. I'm playing instead.

I completely agree about this meme stretching our writing skills. It had been much fun and very enlightening!

Harry tensed up as he felt a hand on his shoulder, then relaxed as he glanced up seeing Hermione.

"I'm sorry about you and Ginny…"

"I'm not. I... Ginny never really saw me, did she? Just the Boy-Who-Lived I'm sorry about you and Ron."

"I'm not. I think Ron did see me, he just never really cared much for what he saw... The idea of me maybe but..."

They sat next to each other quite a while, finally she entwined their fingers. They fit... just like that.

"Hermione..."

Her soft "yes" somehow conveyed so much more than one word should.

This was so much fun. Thanks for getting me involved, and thanks again for my wonderful evil drabble. Yay! We should do this again!

bambu345 said much the same. I agree--it was just as much fun reading as writing, giving, as well as receiving. And I thought it great that people were given challenges off their beaten path. A Nero Wolfe from you, a Pern from bambu345, a Voyager from snarkywench_64 and even those sticking to HP often got characters off their beaten path.
