You might consider framing it in terms of the company experiencing lots of changes in its clientele and deciding whether or not they needed the same size staffing...

You are probably right, there may be some age discrimination going on, but that is so difficult to prove. Market yourself as "experienced and stable" that is a real benefit to an employer.

Thanks Diane. That is actually true too. We lost a big account with PayPal because of HB-2. And we lost the account AFTER we had two classes of new agents training for it, and after we'd reconfigured enough computers, and made accommodations for the additional security the account would require.

And speaking of HB-2, I've recently learned it shortened the amount of time you can collect unemployment, and made it no longer possible to extend benefits.

Have you tried any of the temp services? I sort of keep up with some of the folks laid off here, and they are all going through temp agencies. A lot of companies are using that since turn over everywhere seems to be quite high these days. I'm sure it takes a lot of energy to bear up to the search, got you in my thoughts.
