Interesting idea with the charity auction! :) I've heard of "dates" being auctioned off for fundraisers, but what Sam is doing is more sexualized. Unless they retconned him, he's definitely a minor. Do you think they'd let minors do something as sexualized as stripping (or to the extent seen above) for a charity auction?

yeah, actually i do, i mean this is Glee we're talking about here, the same Glee that did the sexualized brittney spears numbers for un entire episode so anything's possible *shrug*

Oh, haha, I have no doubt Glee would have no qualms going there because they do unrealistic things all the time; I meant would something like what we were seeing in the preview ever be allowed at a charity auction involving minors period. XD I think even with consent/permission forms that'd be tricky with someone Sam's age, but those are real life questions/restrictions that Glee would be happy to ignore. *laughs*

but +1 to Rachel for owning up to stuffing the ballots.

Um, your Subject Line = +1! But yes, it was nice to see Rachel reaching a maturity level of both valuing her friendships and owning up to mistakes as an adult.

Oh awesome, you got to see this one live as well? Yes, I watched it live, too! I can't wait to hear your thoughts! I got a case of happy feet when he showed up on my screen again. :)

I swear, almost every single character on this show has done a 180 in some form or another. And now Sam's joined that list sadly. What motto hangs up in the Glee writers office? "Retcon! Retcon! Retcon!"

I would seriously love it if Sam were to come out as bisexual (though, gay Sam is preferred since that is what he was ALWAYS MEANT TO BE), as you said the writers have shown little for the middle ground and have treated it poorly/not at all via Brittany.

And returning to the most recent episode...Glee has moved beyond the realm of possibility because there is no way in hell an underage teenager like Sam (even if he looked like Chord Overstreet) would be working in a strip club. Just no. I don't buy it. Writers don't care and are going to continue to spiral into the black hole of impossibility.

Lovely recap! And oh that dream. I'm glad we were there for you! *hugs* ^_^

Well, I'm still trying to determine if he's done a 180, or if they just put him in 180 situations. The stripping was a 180 in terms of his body issues, yet the explanation sounds more like Sam has accepted someone else might want to see his body versus thinking his own body is attractive...in S2, he WAS working out to be considered sexy and desirable--watching carefully what he ate and worrying that even when he looked ripped, he looked fat ( ... )

Of course you can't expect Glee to cover every aspect or every representation, but in this case, we were promised a character that was going to deliver the "I'm just a regular dude who likes dudes!" Sam would have been the representation for all the kids who aren't full of hate, but aren't full of confidence, either. What about those who don't know they are gay from the get go or who are struggling with it? They aren't all bullies. What about all the kids who are unaware or becoming aware of being in the closet and what that means? They aren't all confident or 100% settled on their sexuality ( ... )
