You may have noticed in the sidebar that all of the previous challenges have been tagged. I am currently in the process of tagging fics with the challenge numbers.

ALSO, I'm sending a big "thank you" out to trillingstar who has added tags for those of you who have submitted work here. Look for the tag that starts with "w" and find your LJ name and add it ( Read more... )

Thanks for letting me know. I've added you to the list. Might be a while before we get everything tagged, but you're more than welcome to tag your own fics if you like.

BLESS YOU for doing this! It was super-annoying how the tags got all messed up, because they're really important for this particular comm, for both reading and writing. I use them all the time (or I used to). I thought about offering to help fix them at one point, but then I saw how many entries there were and I was like, "Welllll maybe someone else will step up." And you did! :-)

I love the author tags, too. That was a great idea. Especially since so many people didn't crosspost their work here to their own LJ.

It's a slow going process and there might be more tags in the future, but this is where we're at currently.

With the mass exodus(es) from LJ, it's nice that people didn't crosspost from their own journals (I think there's actually a rule against it), but it's also a little bit nostalgic to go through and wonder where this author or that author has gone.

If you want to add tags to your old fics, that would be a big help. I'm just on 2006 now, haven't even gotten to my own entries yet so any and all help will be appreciated.

Well, first the good news... I added tags to all my flashfic and drabbles, both my writer tag and the new version of each challenge tag. (It was relatively easy to do since I had links to everything in my Master List.)

The bad news... I was unable to delete the OLD challenge tags, the ones with the pound symbol. I'm guessing the comm is set up so that you have to be a maintainer to delete tags? I would think you'd be able to do a mass-deletion of the old tags from the Manage Tags page, so that you don't have to go through and do it for each individual entry. I hope.

ETA: It's weird... I can't seem to delete ANY tags after they've been added to an entry. So, if someone had accidentally entered the wrong tag, I don't think they'd be able to edit it to get rid of it. I can add new (existing) tags, but not delete them.

There are some challenge prompts where I just left the hashtag in. And then others where I revised the hashtag. I'm not that worried about the hashtag prompts since, at present, no one can see or access them except in an individual post. Clicking on them seems to get goofy.

Fun fact, I discovered today (and it might just be for me & the other admins) that you can just click on your icon in an entry and be able to look at all of your posts. Pretty cool.
