I almost passed this one by, the first time, because I was in a hurry, and didn't get it. But the title "Maria Wants Revenge" finally hit me, and I realized what I was missing. Good drabble.

Since we're on this subject: I hope you don't mind my saying this, but I noticed on your journal that you prefer to hear things bluntly, so I'm going to go with it. I think that you haven't gotten a lot of comments on some of these drabbles because people don't realize who the characters are, or don't understand their connections to Oz. That may be intentional on your part, to make people use their brains and puzzle out the connections on their own, but I have a feeling that if you mentioned in a header or in the subject line, that, for instance, the characters in your most recent drabble were Nat Ginzburg and Antonio Nappa, people would pay more attention to it. Sometimes people just need to be hit over the head with the facts, ya know?

Like I said, I hope you don't mind my mentioning it, but I'm always glad to see a new writer in Oz, and I'm hoping you'll write more. I just think you'll get more response, and reach a wider audience, if you make those connections a little bit clearer.

Wow...really...glad you told me cuz i thought it was quite easy to figure out (ie we all know Nappa was writing a memoir and Nat was his secretary but i am one who tend to fixate on the minor characters ie, you probably all forgot who Maria was so idk)...

I'll try the suggestion if all fails I'll have my lack of b/k to blame.

I just realized how well you characterized Maria in this. That's exactly how Nino's sister would phrase it. Elegant, subtle, yet unforgiving. She knows how to grease the weels just as well as her brother does.
