4 drabbles for Challenge #136 - Elemental

Jul 12, 2008 09:07

Been a while since I've done this here, but the prompt drew me. Here are 4 drabbles - one for each element - all 100 words each. Warning: The first one might be a little bit squicky for some folks, so if you want to head down to the next, it's okay with me.

“Cultivation, Tim. It’s in your nature.”

Nice line! These are all well done. I especially like the first one - you really got into Miguel's mind-set here.

Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the first one - I had a devil of a time with it, so I'm very happy it worked for you.

I'm so happy to see you writing Oz drabbles! I am starting to get inspired to do a few now!

I liked them all,and was especially touched by the one with Mukada. I think you captured what he was feeling after the fire, and I always hated the way the spiritual services were in the same room as the cafeteria, stage, etc. It showed how little spirituality (and the people who tried to assist inmates with their spiritual selves ) were thought of.
Robson and Schillinger and the trivial pursuit game were funny. Robson saying he hoped all the questions weren't that obscure made me laugh.

Great observations on the Mukada drabble - I'm glad I was able to capture that so well for you.

The Robson & Schillinger one was my favorite to write. I had that set of cards and I got that particular question wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Thanks for reading! And I hope to see some Oz drabbles from you soon!

Glad you liked them. I liked writing the Mukada one because it's a lot more cynical than we usually see him. And Sister Pete/Tim was just a heck of a lot of fun to do.

Nice observations. I like all of them, but the Alvarez and Mukada work well together. I could feel the despair.

Good to see you inspired!

Loved the Alvarez one. It gave me chills.

And the last line of Pete and Tim's is very nice. Captures their relationship perfectly. She gets Tim.

Good job on all of them.

Pete has always gotten Tim and she doesn't put up with his b.s. I'm happily surprised by your reaction to the Alvarez one - he's got an unusual mindset which may be why I'm still not entirely comfortable with it, even though it works.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting!
