Hardtime Challenge 110: One Last Thing
Here's my entry, just over the limit at 128 words.
Kareem could hear Arif saying "breathe, breathe," but he knew it was over. He would have known even if Simon Adebisi wasn't standing before him.
"I am dying."
"Yes, my brother, you are." Adebisi still wore his hat, still had a toothpick hanging from the corner of his mouth, still danced to music only he could hear.
"Am I to believe that you are my guide to Paradise? That Allah has sent you?" Kareem could hear Arif saying "please, please, please."
"Believe whatever you want." Adebisi pulled the toothpick from his mouth. "But know this, brother, I never got my chance to kill you. I guess I will have to kiss you instead."
Kareem felt Adebisi's lips press against his own and realized he couldn't hear Arif any longer.
