HT100 Challenge #63 - Punch Drunk Love: Sticks and stones

Sep 26, 2004 20:55

First-time ever attempt at an Oz drabble. I hope I don't get sent to the Hole for not taking the challenge literally. Or for going over 100 words. (118 total, but it's a perfect 100 without the quotes!) Of course, if Keller's waiting in the hole, then toss me in and throw away the key.

Also, I found a great site that seems to have the scripts ( Read more... )

First off, welcome to the party. :-) Second, OUCH. This one hurts but is very true to character. Great job.

p.s. You don't have to cut tag drabbles here. Just flash fic.

I guess it wouldn't be a real, or figurative, punch if it didn't sting a little, huh? Or a lot.

Thanks for the welcome and the direction, Mav:)

I think you got it right -- and yeah, what Mav said, ouch. But in a good way.

Thanks, Rebecca! It's easier to get it right after lurking and reading all the great writers here.

Oooh, excellent. I love this bit "You don't land a blow like that and just walk away. Free." So true in the land of Oz.

Glad you enjoyed it, Cat! I was going for the double meaning there - Toby's not going to get off without paying. And, sadly, as we know, the payment will be his freedom.

Great start, ultraviolet730! And yeah, very painful to remember that scene ( actually every scene in s6 is painful*g*). But you made it hurt so good.:) Keep writing!

Thanks for the kind words! I am really not a fan of Season 666, so it's hard even to think about it, let alone write about it. I have come to believe that something really did flip in Keller's brain, something that caused him to go from "I owe you my life, Toby" to trying to condemn him to life.

Yay! You're here! :-) And, to echo the others -- *ouch*. Yeah.

I've gotta say, that conversation has to rank among the most thoughtless things Beecher ever did. I wanted to smack him upside the head sooooo badly. He got a lot worse than that though, huh.

OZ, man.

Yay for being here! Thanks for the encouragement :)

That Beecher conversation is soooo painful. Though the pre-talking kisses and goodbye smooches are so sweet and sexy. They almost make up for the twinge I feel whenever I watch the whole scene.

Honestly, I have no idea what Toby was thinking. And no, I don't think he deserved what Keller did. But I have to try to rationalize it by telling myself Keller was slowly going crazy.

Rationalizing insanity - is that an oxymoron? Or just Oz?
