I can't remember for sure, but we *might* have done something like this for a 100-word challenge at some point (heh...I could find something like that out pretty easily if only I had been keeping the Memories section updated...*hangs head in shame*)-however, even if we have, I think the flashfiction format makes it a whole different ballgame

Warning... Newbie question... It has occurred to me that these short fics would be the ideal way to finally start contributing some writing. What's the deadline on the flashfic and the HT100 Challenge?

HT100 challenges generally last one week, although lately they have been extended to two weeks. The flashfic challenges run a month.

And yes, they are a good way to flex one's writing muscles.
