Summary: For years SM and YG Academies have had a rivalry that never failed to hold strong. The students meeting one another would often end in violent exchanges. Things seem to be taking a dramatic turn as SM's new student, Kim Jaejoong, sets foot on campus. Not only does Jung Yunho take immediate notice of his new roommate's arrival as well as his appearance, but so does his pretty boy rival, Choi Dong Wook. Things can only escalate from here, whether it be for better or for worse. Chapter two introduces the other school.
-Chapter Two-
"That must have been so embarrassing for them!" Song Baek Kyoung laughed out, snapping his phone closed and sliding it into the pocket of his baggy jeans. He made a slight adjustment to the green headband that appeared to keep his overly messy hair at bay. The stubborn locks, however, denied the headband its duties and managed slip under the confines of the elastic material, giving the boy a stylishly unkempt look.
His roommate, Teddy Park, glanced up at Baek Kyoung from the magazine he had been perusing through and allowed his eyes to roll. "What are you blabbering on about now, Bacon?" With that large impish grin that Baek Kyoung so often wore, Teddy couldn't help but think of the Cheshire Cat.
In an instant, his small friend was at his side and snatching the magazine away so Teddy's attention would remain on him only. "Guess who lost the soccer competition thing in Japan, just a while ago?" He spoke in a sing song voice, an implication that the news was certainly delightful and had to be shared with Teddy immediately.
"Who? The president?"
Baek Kyoung rolled with laughter, though Teddy didn't find anything funny about his purposefully wrong answer. Once the smaller boy settled, he wiggled his eyebrows and bobbed his head before quickly responding, "Those little goody goodies at SM Academy totally got their asses handed to them!"
Teddy sighed, but failed to hide that small chuckle that had managed to escape. Even a small smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. There was certainly no need to question where Baek Kyoung was heading with this one. "You mean, they traveled all the way to Japan to lose to a team that could have just as well beaten them across the street?" He shook his head, this time a snort of laughter escaping the boy. "How lame."
Baek Kyoung pounced on Teddy and quickly made himself more comfortable. "The guys will be back later tonight, so when they arrive, we have to celebrate."
With single motion, Teddy expertly displaced his friend to the floor without a second thought. "What did you have in mind?"
The smaller of the two swore silently while rubbing his now aching backside, a displeased scowl darkening his features considerably. "Lexy told me there's going to be a party at Rain's tonight. We usually have a good time there."
"Rain? Jeong Ji Hun?" Teddy asked before scoffing at the idea and quickly waving it to the side. "I don't want to be around him and his little SM buddies. Not tonight. Go without me."
Any time he and the others made one of their respectful visits to one of Rain's infamous parties, those SM twits would always try to start a bit of a row between the two rivaling schools. Though it had taken him some time, Teddy came to the eventual conclusion that Jeong Ji Hun was the instigator when it came to the disputes between the two academies, and quite frankly, he was sick and tired of being moved around like some pawn by someone who barely even understood the rules of the game.
Baek Kyoung remained on the floor and let out a dramatic and childish sigh, a large, bratty pout forming on his face, "You're such a party pooper, Teddy!" He let out a small 'humph' before a thought hit him. His expression instantly changed into that of a slightly mature child, "Yah, tell you what. You come to this party, and I'll never bother you again."
Teddy fixed the boy a look that clearly said, 'As is I'd believe that.'
"For the rest of today, that is," he slipped in with a broad grin. Before his friend could speak, he quickly clapped his hands together and bowed his head low, "Please go! It'll be no fun if you aren't there!"
"Aish," Teddy groaned after a moment's silence between them, not bothering to hide his dislike of the idea of going to this party, but then again, he always did have difficulties refusing Baek Kyoung when he showed the slightest bit of vulnerability. "You better get the whole crew to go if you're gonna be dragging me in there, Baek."
Baek Kyoung glanced up at him hopefully, "And you'll stay?"
Teddy draped an arm over his eyes so he wouldn't have to look at that childlike glimmer in the small boy's hopeful gaze, but it seemed to have already worked his magic as Teddy found himself responding without the permission of his brain. "As long as my patience lasts."
For the second time in less than ten minutes, Teddy found himself being pounced on by an overjoyed Baek Kyoung. Only this time he didn't dump his friend to the floor. Instead, he toyed with those spiky strands of hair he had become so fond of over the course of their friendship. "Idiot," he muttered, causing the smaller to laugh.

"Unnie," Kim May Doni sighed with a hint of exasperation in her voice. It felt as though an eternity had past and still her sister's best friend wasn't acknowledging the fact that she had spoke. She settled her book down onto her bed to better glare across the room at the girl. "I've asked you to turn the music down several times already! I'm trying to study."
The girl she spoke to was focused on her reflection on the body length mirror fixed onto the back of the room's door. Park Bom Lee, the up and coming beauty of the academy, was making perfectly sure that she remained flawless for her adoring fans. At hearing the younger girl, she rolled her eyes, "What's your problem, May Doni? You're smart enough already. Besides," she held up an earring to her ear and tested its effect, "there's more to the high school life than studying all the time."
"Yeah," the younger girl, having the perfect comeback in mind, "and there's more to high school life than prettying yourself up for Ji Yong-oppa when he hardly notices your existence in the first place. Wouldn't you agree?" With that said May Doni quickly grabbed her book and hurried from the room, hoping to miss hearing Bom Lee's annoyed reply of, "You're just so weird! You don't belong here at all!"
But of course, she hadn't escaped fast enough, and that was exactly what she had heard.
No, May Doni didn't belong at the academy she had been cursed to attend to, that was something she had been able to admit to herself a long time ago. But what of it? Right now, there was nothing she could do, but study hard and pray a miracle arose so that she could transfer. As she left the confines of the dorm walls, her mind wandered freely.
Upon her arrival here, she instantly knew that she did not and would not ever belong to such a place. She was so different from the rest of the student population, who treasured their time with friends and doing stupid things that might or might not follow them to college. Believing that school activities were more important than the academic path, something the girl just couldn't understand. To be perfectly honest, May Doni didn't care about the academy's soccer team international rating or school spirit. Just give her a book on history and she was good to go.
Then again, she had never given her school a fair chance. She had always wanted to be at another school. The rivaling, but ever academic savvy SM Academy.
The place she really belonged.
As she finally stepped out of the dormitory building, she was immediately assaulted by the brilliant rays of the sun, which she instantly shielded her eyes from. And then, before anything else could possibly happen, she was spotted by one of the few friends she had actually managed to harbor while attending the academy.
"Kim May Doni!"
The gentle voice was accompanied by a warm smile and friendly wave. A moment later, Kang Dae Sung hurried to her side, still smiling that same smile that had earned him so many friends.
Despite herself, May Doni grinned. It was a difficult task not to return one of his smiles, something she had failed miserably at multiple times. "Dae Sung-oppa," she greeted politely with a slight inclination of her head. However temperamental she might have been, she could be free of that in the company of Dae Sung or one other person. "How have you been holding up in the dorm all on your own?"
Each of Dae Sung's roommates were on the soccer team that had traveled somewhere or other for a soccer competition of sorts, leaving the adorable young man on his own for a spell.
"Oh," Dae Sung nodded in response, "Seung Hyun-hyung let me crash with him, since some of his roommates are gone or never there." He smiled fondly, "He knew I hate being alone and--" he stopped suddenly when his stomach let out an agonizing cry of hunger. He grinned guiltily at May Doni who could only laugh in response, "By chance, you didn't hear that, did you?"
"Loud and clear, oppa."
He let out a laugh of his own then jerked his head in the direction of the cafeteria, "Well, I'm headed this way. Do you want to join me? If you weren't doing something else already, that is."
"Well actually," May Doni began, wanting more than anything than to steal a few precious minutes to herself where she would be able to study in silence. "I was going to--" she cut herself off at seeing her oppa's more so childish than hopeful, gaze fixed on her. It was a difficult task for anyone, herself certainly included in that number, to refuse such a look from Kang Dae Sung. She smiled and let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding, "--of course I would love to go to the cafeteria with you."

The flight back home had been a relatively smooth one, in the opinion of Choi Dong Wook. The entire team, coaches included, had been lulled to sleep by the flight. There were, no doubt, visions of their victory replaying in their minds, probably making it more dramatic then it actually had been, but a victory none the less. Dong Wook had done this a number of times himself, but only because it felt so good to have won over that snooty SM bunch.
His sensual lips curved upward in the tiniest hints of a smirk. It felt absolutely amazing to be winner, to have that familiar warmth of self-satisfaction and the comforting cool of accomplishment, blended perfectly together to create content and harmony.
If only that content and harmony thing had lasted through the bus ride...
When the team loaded onto the charter bus bound for their respected academy, it was Kwon Ji Yong who started the chaos by jumping onto his seat and shouting a victory cheer at the top of his lungs. His excitement seemed contagious as others quickly caught on and began their own renditions of the cheer. To put it as Dong Wook had at that moment, all hell broke loose.
Taebin, usually silent and reflective in his celebrations, at least the ones pertaining to school, hopped from seat to seat, doing what he could to make sure everyone was just as excited and crazy as he. His participation caused the insanity to grow. A half a second later, Jin Hwan joined him, though he celebrated everything this way. From C's to breaking up with annoying girlfriends.
The boys were far too excited to be controlled or calmed, and the staff was far too pleased with the performance they had seen earlier that day on the field. It had been a gruesome game between two very capable teams as well as rivals, each player trying to best another. It was gratifying to come out on top after such hard work.
In the ferocious world in which these two schools lived, was epic. Very few people dared to become too familiar with one school is they had already been befriended by the other. And a student from one of the schools befriending a student from the other? Just thinking up something like that was pure blasphemy and completely unheard of.
Jin Hwan worked his way to the front of the bus where he knew Dong Wook would be seated, despite the chaos that had erupted around him. "Lexy just sent a text. There's gonna be a party at Rain's tonight." He crawled across the lap of his friend in order to situate himself into the window seat and become more comfortable. "You in?"
"Have I ever refused one of that guy's crazy parties before?" Dong Wook drawled with a small yawn, shoving his friend and teammate slightly. "Let's just call it a celebration of sorts. I just hope the SM crew doesn't start anything. I'm not in the mood for them tonight."
The conversing teammates made doubly sure to keep their voices to a low mutter, seeing how the coaching staff would put a quick stop to any plans they made to a stop if it reflected upon the school. While yes, they had a great deal of freedom and liberty when it came to their campus lives, they were prohibited from taking part in any 'damaging' activities, such as partying where alcohol was provided, fighting with the SM brats, and things of that nature.
It felt as though they had only just gotten on the bus when it pulled up to the front of the academy's gymnasium. There were loud complaints, whines and mumbles as the soccer team slowly collected their belongings and filed off of the large bus, but seeing as how the boys would be taking a part in a little bit of unscheduled fun in an hour's time, they complaints to a minimum.
A great throng of students waited for them inside the gym, cheering loudly, waving banners of red and white and showing a great display of school spirit and pride. Apparently, someone had tipped them off about their victory in Japan, and Dong Wook didn't have a single doubt in his mind that it was Jin Hwan, the one person you couldn't count on to keep a secret.
Even if his life depended on it.
"Dong Wook-oppa!" A couple of girls, freshmen probably, shouted excitedly as he strode by them. When he acknowledged them with a small wave and an even smaller wink, they nearly died with delight.
Definitely freshmen, he thought with a smirk.
"Seems like we're going to be a little late for Rain's party," a low, husky voice muttered silently into Dong Wook's ear as an arm draped lazily over his shoulder.
Though he remained in motion, Dong Wook stiffened slightly at the touch from the boy, but his mind and body still seemed to work together as a unit, because he was able to push the boy's arm off of him and created more distance between the two of them. "I didn't know you'd be going, Taebin. You usually hate going to his parties as much as Teddy does." He had been able to force a somewhat casual note in voice, but unease was certainly there.
Taebin elected to ignore Dong Wook's own form of rejection and forced a grin. Things had been like that between them for quite some time now. Taebin was just too cowardly to say anything about it aloud, and Dong Wook was too polite about it. At the mention of Teddy, Taebin let out a laugh, "He left a message a little while ago, actually. Seems like Baek was able to convince him to go."
"Ah," Dong Wook grinned weakly, pushing past a few more fellow students so that he might get to the locker room sometime within the hour, "where Teddy goes you go, huh?" The note in his voice was a slightly bitter one, but could be easily passed off as exhaustion.
Just as Taebin's lips parted, the three youngest members of the soccer team quickly caught up with their hyungs. The most hyper-active of the three, at the moment anyway, Kwon Ji Yong, leapt without warning, aiming to get a spot on Dong Wook's back. This seemed to happen often, because out of instinct, the older boy braced himself and caught the boy easily. Only months of practice had kept him from tipping over.
Dong Young Bae and Lee Seung Hyun, the two that had followed behind Ji Yong, double teamed Taebin in attempts to tackle him to the gym floor, but as usual, their hyung proved to be a little bit too much for them to handle.
"Ah," Seung Hyun, or Seung Ri as he was called so not to get confused with the older Seung Hyun, complained, releasing the hold he had on one of Taebin's arms. "Taebin-hyung is no fun to sneak up on! He never lets us win. Aish!"
Young Bae nodded his agreement and carefully maneuvered away from his hyung, who had taken a light swing at him, "yeah, and he always hits back."
Ji Yong snickered at the misfortune of his two friends and tightened his grasp on Dong Wook so that he could remain as was. Rather than protesting the action, or causing himself further exhaustion be fighting the boy off, he allowed him to stay put, made sure the boy was settled and carried him off in the direction of the locker room.
This caused a frenzy amongst Young Bae and Seung Ri who both demanded piggy back rides from a none too passive Taebin. After persistent pouts and a couple of really lame punches, Taebin gave in and ended up carrying Young Bae on his back, while Seung Ri latched onto his leg with the strength of blood-sucking leeches that refused to be removed.

As expected, the turn out for Rain's party had been incredibly huge and as expected, most of his guests were from SM Academy.
Teddy made a slight clicking noise in the back of his throat before swiftly turning around and attempting to leave. He could already feel his patience slipping, and if he stayed at this party for too much longer, the bomb in his would surely go off, but Baek Kyoung, however, grabbed his friend's shirt sleeve and roughly tugged on it while glaring up at him.
There was an outburst of laughter from several members of the group, but Taebin sympathized with his friend, wanting to leave this party just as badly as he did. But with Baek Kyoung's sharp eyes and quick hands, neither would be able to escape without being noticed and captured.
"Oh," Jin Hwan's eyes narrowed slightly and he cocked his head to one side, before turning his attention to the ever silent Dong Wook. He jerked his head in the direction he had been looking and spoke in a low voice, "There's our host with a long time friend of your's, Seven."
Dong Wook hissed at the nickname that he had been awarded with, but then Jin Hwan's message had gripped him. He glanced in the direction indicated. Even before Dong Wook's eyes landed on Jung Yunho, his posture went rigid, something that seemed to be contagious as the rest of their group saw what it was Dong Wook was looking at.
Baek Kyoung, however, remained as mobile as ever and allowed his mobility to direct his steps in the very direction of SM Academy's wonder boy and self-proclaimed leader.
"Aish," Teddy swore through clenched teeth. He was silent for a moment, no doubt counting in his head so that he might be able to speak calmly rather than completely explode. It was quite some time before he spoke, but when he did, he found his voice with little trouble and his words were a forced calm, "Let's make sure his little ass doesn't get beaten."
For as long as anyone could remember, SM Academy and YG Academy had been rivals to the point that not even faculty and staff wanted anything to do with the opposing school. Depending on which students bumped into one another, their meetings often ended in fights, especially if those two students were Choi Dong Wook and Jung Yunho. These two students in particular seemed to have a strong disliking for one another.
Dong Wook stepped through his friends, his initial intent to pull Baek Kyoung back before something broke out, but he froze as his eyes locked onto Yunho for the second time in less than ten minutes. A smirk appeared on those trademark lips of his and he greeted his ultimate rival with a cool, "Jung Yunho."
His eyes then glazed slightly over as they fell onto the beauty at Yunho's side. At first glance, this porcelain doll could have easily been taken as female, but further analysis proved that first glance very wrong indeed. He was snapped back into reality as Yunho delivered an icy greeting of his own. "Choi Dong Wook."
Dong Wook shoved his hands into his pockets, that seemingly casual smirk still twisting, tainting and gracing his features all at the same time. "Fancy meeting you here of all places." His gaze wandered back to that porcelain beauty that looked oddly flushed and took a small step behind Yunho.
SM Academy's ultimate brain, Shim Changmin, rolled his eyes in annoyance and put a hand on Yunho's shoulder and delivered a slight squeeze, "Hyung, let's just get out of here."
"Like he said earlier," Dong Wook spoke calmly, motioning towards Baek Kyoung, "we aren't here to cause any trouble." He removed his hands from his pockets, making sure to show the opposing school that he had nothing in them, but that growing smirk on his face told Yunho otherwise.
Dong Wook quickly turned to his friends, teammates and school mates, "We're only here to celebrate that wonderful victory the soccer team had in Japan this weekend, right?"
At his conclusion, there was a great cheer from the YG students, beating their fists into the air and letting out loud whistles and cat calls. Ji Yong began to cheer and soon enough, the rest of them followed suit. Dong Wook faced Yunho once more, "That's all we're doing."
Everything that followed happened so quickly that if asked, few would be able to remember how the fight had even started up; all they know was that someone had landed a punch on someone else and a fight had surely started between the rivaling schools.
Some SM clown had attempted to blindside Taebin while Baek Kyoung used his height, or the lack there of, to his advantage and attack as needed. Someone had punched Teddy in the jaw and another student was on the verge of strangling poor Ji Yong, but failed when Jin Hwan and Young Bae forcefully removed the student and gave him a good thrashing.
"Changmin!" Si Won, who had been trying to get through to them before the fight's start, reached the boy and quickly grabbed his arm and gave it a sharp tug, "You of all people can't be caught up in this mess. You need to get out of here now!" He tugged the younger boy's arm once again, but Changmin only resisted long enough to get a hold of the frozen Jaejoong.
"But Yunho," Jaejoong managed to argue, glancing back at Yunho who fought with the one called Dong Wook. The two boys were in their own world, struggling violently with one another. It seemed no one could break into the battle, so delicately woven, to end it. Nor could they seem to break free of it.
"Yunho-hyung will be fine," Changmin hissed in urgency, displaying his own strength and pulling Jaejoong toward him. "We have to get out of here. Now!"
Si Won managed to clear the way for them until they were outside of the house, now filling more and more with fighting teenagers. Once the three were outside, he headed back to the building, promising to deliver Junsu, and hopefully Yunho, in one piece.
The night ended in furious yells and cries, with flying fists and flailing arms. Not exactly the victory YG Academy students had anticipated, but as long as some of SM's precious students took a bit of heat for their late night partying habits, then it would certainly be worth it.
"What was that all about, Changmin?" Jaejoong breathed once he was able to find his voice once again. The look of rage etched on Yunho's features had shocked the newest student to no end, and the unreadable expression of that Choi Dong Wook, both were still solid in his mind.
Changmin could see Si Won, Junsu and a third figure hurrying toward them. Upon reaching them, Si Won spoke quickly, "Yoochun will take you all back, now get out of here. I'll do what I can to help Yunho out. Ka!"
"Hyung!" Junsu began to protest, but the third person, Yoochun, stopped any protests by gently shoving his friend in the direction they needed to go. "Hyung," Junsu mumbled again, but this time, Jaejoong wasn't sure if it was directed to the departed Si Won or to this Yoochun, who gently guided him away.
Changmin caught Jaejoong's attention and motioned for the older boy to follow along. When he was close enough, Changmin muttered loud enough for him to hear, "I'll explain once we get back to the dorms."
* * *
"Chunnie-ah," Junsu worried over the boy who had been briefly introduced to Jaejoong as Park Yoochun. Before Si Won had managed to reach him back at Rain's party, Yoochun had gotten into a bit of a scuffle of his own with a YG student.
Jaejoong couldn't imagine the fight very well. This Yoochun character didn't look like much of the fighting type. His eyes were far too kind, his smile too gentle and his voice didn't hold a single aggressive note in it. The lanky figure that bad been pinned to the couch in the living room area by an overly concerned Junsu, couldn't possibly have gotten into a fight.
And yet he had.
With a small sigh and shake of his head, Jaejoong concluded that he would have a lot to learn about this school, its students and the other school's students.
Changmin emerged from the only bathroom in the apartment styled dorm with a miniature medical kit. "Junsu-hyung, please stop raping Yoochun-hyung and try cleaning out his cuts instead." Only when Junsu removed himself from a very thankful Yoochun, did the youngest toss over the small box of band aids and medicines.
It was then that Changmin made his way over to Jaejoong, an apologetic smile on his young face. "I'm sorry about that whole scene. Not exactly the traditional SM welcome."
"What was all that about?" Jaejoong asked silently. "What's the problem between the two academies?"
A small sigh escaped the younger of the two, knowing that his newest hyung would have found out about the intense and rather ridiculous, rivalry sooner or later. It was only fortunate for Jaejoong that he had asked the right person. Someone who wouldn't tell him that SM Academy was better and YG Academy was trash. "Well," he began, very well aware of the history of both schools, "originally, the two academies were one big school, which explains why they're so close..."~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
