S-so I have an idea. Which would have to happen in the next few days to work because I'll be gone for a week after. Basically an IC excuse for Ys to disappear.

Um! Ys' soul is a 'constant' in his world. IE even if he dies he isn't dead for long because he keeps coming back, etc.

So if Death basically said 'don't exist', it would only be a temporary thing...because the community/his world would bring him back? But lots of drama/confrontation, Kite saying 'I want to help you Ys' in a post or something before that?

Okay, that's confusing.

Kite asks death to grant Ys' wish for death-->but Ys has to agree?-->Kite posts the offer->Ys talks to Death-->his soul is 'dead' for over a week

'Dead' as in 'not in his body'. His body is put on life support by his mother or something like that...and he comes back when I come back.

Hey! I'm fine with this, but Death will want to talk to Ys first. She won't do something to him against his will.

The tough part is that Death could just go up to Ys and be like "You're ready to go? Okay," and then he'd die. But that's no good if you want to keep playing him. XD

So I'm just going to say Death pulled a fast one by messing with Ys and Kite's destinies, and then Destiny/the Fates asked her to knock it off because of the repercussions, which is why it ends up being temporary. idk, I'm just having trouble making it temporary and keeping it IC.

Um! Is it possible just to send his soul to the afterlife for a quest of some sort, or something like that? And have his body in a coma...Or something like that?

So...Death can 'kill his soul', which is basically what causes his pain (the rebirth cycle), but not his body? To the after life, but he's one of the kind that 'stay around' because they think they 'deserve it', and he has to make a choice: 'be aware like this and fade' or 'return and continue your life'. His choice is that later (for various reasons).

...which is much better, I'm thinking, and easier on Death to keep her IC? Let me know if this conflicts with her characterization/etc.
