Jim burst through the doors, or as much as that can be said when they slid open at exactly the same speed no matter the urgency of the entrant.

He stopped just inside the door. She looked so small, and his heart went out to her.

"Narada," he said. "I'm sorry."

He was. It was not regret, but he could have sympathy. Even if she could not fully accept it.

The Narada looked to the organic that came through the doors (heart rate elevated, respiration increased)) and studied the human female. Its scans were unfamiliar to her databanks. "Why are you apologizing?" She stated in her calm tones. Her head tilted, scans increasing.

If the Enterprise's security systems were anything like her own, they would only open to their own occupants. Calculations took only milliseconds, "You are James T. Kirk." Spock had said that all four of them had been altered upon transport.

"Why are you sorry?" She stared at him, or at least it would have been staring coming from another organic. "Is this not the outcome you desired?" Calculations would state that it seemed to be the most likely choice for one in James T. Kirk or Spock's interests.
