Good luck, Nell!! At least you've already road-tested Mario - he can totally make it in just four days. :)

Ah nice! I love it out there. You will too I'm sure.

I think I might head out west again next summer (to visit my cousins) if things here agree. I'll let you know as it gets closer if I decide to come out.

Yes definitely.

LA has a huge anime convention each July -- AX. Think Otakon, but bigger. I just barely missed it the last two times I was out there. But next time, I will time it just right.

But not to worry, there's plenty more to do out there. And hopefully by next summer my things will be more in order as well.

Your great time will definitely come. It maybe a cliché'-sunday sounding but whole-heartedly true. You tried things and nothing happened - all of those are all “just for nows”.

Whilst in apartment, try new things. Look through your windows as if you were in Redding. (Nissan Sentra ride would be fine). Travel around LA and look for a job that intrigues or entices you. There is beauty in boredom and there is always hiding in “nothing”. Find the pleasures in waiting until you see things dawning. There is always something for a day-work-waiting, believe me.

Think of happy things, of mundane and juvenile things. Think of a dream car, or a set of used cars, Redding cars, the fast ones, or anything that could take you to places.
