Remember I was going to buy a new computer?  Well I did, and I managed to pick out a lemon.

After dozens of emails, phone calls, suggestions by HP support, instructions by HP support, commiserating by HP support, they agreed and have overnighted me a new hard drive.

I get it today, and that is what I'll be doing tonight.  I have been computerless

*giggles* I love that.

I had a tough time with my HP computer, too, but we have now learned to live together in mutual dysfunction. I'm careful not to put it into stand-by too often, or for too long, and it shuts down properly, and all is well in our little world.

I ended up returning the damn thing last night and getting another one.

So, I'm cool now.

Well, of course the model I'd just purchased 3 weeks before was not stocked any longer, hence the cheaper price. I had to upgrade to a Pavillion 1600. And it works so much better!!
