Let me preface this by telling you that I edit grammar, punctuation etc for a living. :) I absolutely love the thought process of the whale, and am thoroughly confused but delighted by the creativity of this entry. But I would put a comma after "had thought that". The sentence confused me at first :D

Ah god, but I assumed this was part of a creative writing project. And then I have the thought that perhaps it wasn't, and then Google makes me realise that I'm delivering a critique to a person that isn't Douglas Adams. I'm sorry XD
