Hello. I'm Erin Hummer. I have been working with children for a long time and have many of my own and I want to talk to you for a moment on the importance of education. Sure, it's easy to make your kids go to school, but we as parents also need to make sure that home life is conducive to learning. Please make a place in your homes for homework to be done. Make sure that there are as few distractions as possible during homework time. Be available to help with any questions your child may have. And, most importantly, make sure you're providing each child with plenty of opportunities to play. Playtime helps a child to process the information they've been given. Remember, it's good to work hard, but better to know when to take a break and play.
This public service announcement has been brought to you today by The FalderPool, a happy place to swim and splash like a fool.
Life went one peacefully at the Greenman household for most of the winter. Rose was beginning to get a little wilty and decided to spend her copious amounts of free time writing her memoirs. She didn't want anyone to read them, she just wanted to make sure she wrote them.
Jason continued to grow in skill (and make money) painting. When he wasn't helping Rose with her garden.
With four teens in the house, food was almost always running low.
And there were almost always other teens hanging out. If it wasn't Phillip's friends, it was Pansy's. Or Peppers. Or Preston's.
And, since they were not wealthy, there was the push to develop talents in the hope of scoring some good scholarship money.
Near the end of winter, Jason caught a moment alone with Phillip to talk about a special project he had in mind.
You see, Rose had wanted to have a Golden Anniversary party since before she'd even been married. It was probably a big part of why she agreed to marry Jason in the first place. And now that they were both getting on in years, Jason thought it was time to throw one. So he dusted off some old music, bought a cake and invited the entire neighborhood.

It was pretty safe to say that the party was a smashing success.
