Black Butler is fucking awesome:

I haven't been able to find a good anime series to watch for the past few years. I became really picky as I grew up (or as I watched more dramas XD). I was interested in Black Butler at one point because it seemed slashy to me, but I don't think it ever becomes explicitly yaoi or even shounen-ai, right? Why do you like it? (characters, storyline, art or something else?)

I've only watched 2 episodes so far, but I can say that the reason I like it is mainly due to the awesomeness that is Sebastian. I haven't gotten that into the plot yet but what I think is going to be revealed more as I watch is the contract btw Sebastian and Ciel (which is quite interesting). The art is pretty good too....but yea, Sebastian is just awesome. He can cook, clean, is the perfect butler, and just in the second episode, he annihilates over 100 people (who hold Ciel hostage) using only forks and plates as weapons O_O. And so far it isn't that slashy, if that's what you fear. But I really ship Ciel and Sebastian together haha
P.S. I love your icon. L!!! Darn, I forgot to mention Death Note as one of the few animes I liked in the last 2 years.

Hehe, you misunderstood! On the contrary I wish it was slashy! That's why I got interested in it in the first place. But like with most manga and anime I found out that the romance doesn't get resolved in any satisfactory way and that turned me off. But if the story is actually good, even with no romance, I might check it out again.
