If you have some sort of sound recorder on your computer (most windows have something called "recorder" in the accessories/entertainment section), you could play the streamed music/video, press record, and record the mp3 that way.
Whether you can save a copy of a streamed video depends on the type of stream it is, I think. Some sites use certain types just to make sure you can't save it to your computer.
