Heh, I think you have underestimated just how much of it there is... I spent about half an hour the other day clearing about four square feet at the back of the yard, and there was nothing left after all the privet was gone. :P

Yes the tree. And your entire hedgerow in the back is privet. It is not to much...but it is alot. I have seen and cleared much worse (my parents yard). At least it is not bittersweet.
