Crime, crooks, conmen, and capers

So, it's been almost a quarter year since I've posted one of these;  and it looks like that everything I can remember reading in the past few months (aside from all the review books) has been very much of a theme.  I don't even want to speculate about what's up with that.

A sequel to the well-loved Until the Full Moon

My life is better for knowing this exists! \o/ I didn't read Until the Full Moon for the plot either, but the wordplay between the main characters is adorable and I loved the art (they made it more cute? Huh. I'll still read it) -- so yay, I now have something to look forward to!

Do I get a prize for correctly identifying you based on writing style alone? (The satisfaction of being right, I suppose.)

The Rook is, I think, darker than the Laundry series, with less of Stross' wryness.

ETA: Glad you read the Westlake - I hope there is a stockpile of posthumous work. It's been known to happen, right?

Yeah, THE ROOK is pretty dark, but it did have several laugh-out-loud moments.

I think of it rather as a Laundry Files book if we knew what Angleton knows (ughh. On second though, I *definitely* don't want to know what Angleton knows...)
