Cupcake of Love[Part 2 of 2]
For two weeks, both KAT TUN and NewS was so busy that they hadn’t seen each other at all. Yamapi was mopping and complaining because he hadn’t seen Jin at all. Usually, no matter how busy they were, he still manages to see Jin even for a few minutes. But these two weeks, they were so busy that they hadn’t had a chance to see each other, even on the hallway. For the first week, NewS was busy with the interviews and the performance of their new single. Then, the next week, it’s KAT TUN who were busy with their new single. For Yamapi, its ok if they hadn’t seen each other if they were on tour or acting for their drama but to be in the same building and not seeing each other, its just too much for him.
“Argh, I can’t take it anymore. Pi, if you miss him so much why don’t you just call him.” Ryo exclaimed. Yamapi just pouted. “I did try to call him but he was busy, he didn’t even answer my calls. And calling him at night was out of question; because I did not want to hear whatever he and Kame were doing.”
“Pi, what did I say about too much information.” Ryo said, his face grimaced. “Well, it’s not my fault that you have those perverted thought. Whoa, haven’t I said that before. Major déjà vu moment here.” Yamapi said.
Ryo just sighed. Not that he will ever admit it, but he’s kinda missed Ueda too. Suddenly, Ueda walked pass the NewS dressing room. “Tat-channnnn…” Yamapi yelled on top of his lung. Then, he ran towards the door to catch the older man. Hearing his name was called, Ueda stopped on his track. Before he knows it, Yamapi had already hugged him from behind. “Tat-chan…I miss you, and Jin and Kame. I haven’t seen you guys in ages.” Yamapi said.
Without them noticing, Ryo was at the door, watching them. He felt jealousy burning inside him. He tried to shrug it off, but as he saw them talking like a very close friend, he can’t help but feeling a bit mad at Yamapi. Especially when Ueda gave Yamapi one of his brilliant smiles.
“Yo, fish lip, where are you coming from? Didn’t you have interviews or something?” Ryo tried to interrupt Yamapi’s and Ueda’s conversation. Hearing Ryo voice, Ueda can’t help but rolled his eyes.
“Why, I did not know that you care so much about us that you know our schedule, Nishikido.” Ueda replied, sarcastically.
“Don’t flatter yourself, donkey face. It’s because of Pi here that I know, if it’s up to me, I don’t care about you guys at all.” Ryo said. Ueda choose to ignore Ryo instead of answering. He, then, turn to face Yamapi.
“Why don’t you follow me to our room, Pi? Jin also had mentioned that he hadn’t seen you for quite awhile. We’re having a break right now.” Ueda said with a smile on his face.
“Yay, let’s go. Let’s go…” With that said, Yamapi dragged Ueda to KAT TUN dressing room. Ryo was left fuming to himself. The reason he was mad, well, first because Ueda choose to ignore him. Secondly, because Ueda gave Yamapi his sweet smile and thirdly, because Yamapi dragged Ueda away from him. When he caught himself thinking about the third reason, he immediately taught that Yamapi had infected him with Yamapi’s bakaness. Let’s just say that our hero here was in denial with himself.

“Doesn’t it bother you when they act like that?” Koki asked Kame, seeing Jin and Yamapi centric. Kame looked up from the magazines that he was reading, looking at Yamapi and Jin hugging and screaming how much they missed each other.
“No, I’m pretty used to it by now. It’s because of their bakaness that I love them so; you know one as my friend and the other as my lover. Besides, I always thought it was entertaining.” Kame said with a laugh.
Ueda also laugh at what Kame said because he also found Jin and Yamapi centric to be amusing. Koki just raised his eyebrow at Ueda, as if asking what is that he knows that Koki doesn’t know. Ueda just shook his head.
“Ne, ne Tat-chan, can you bake those cupcakes again? It’s really delicious, I love it. Even Ryo said it’s delicious.” Yamapi asked Ueda using his puppy dog eyes. Then, Jin also joins his best friend, pestering Ueda to bake those sweet cupcakes.
“Yeah Tat-chan, pretty please. Could you please, please bake the cupcakes? I love it too. And I really, really want to eat it again.” Jin said.
“I don’t know Jin, we’re quite busy this week, weren’t we? I don’t have the time to bake anything right now. Maybe later or when we have off days.” Ueda said.
“Eh, Uebo can bake? Why didn’t I know about this?” Koki asked, quite shocked with the information that he just received. Kame just nodded his head to confirm the information.
“Did you remember two weeks ago, the time when I gave you, Junno and Nakamaru cupcakes to try. The one that you said the most delicious cupcake you ever tasted, that was actually baked by Tat-chan.” Kame told Koki. Koki eyes went wide.
“Really….Wow, that was really delicious. You have to bake those cupcakes again, Uebo.” Even Koki agreed with Jin and Yamapi after he found out that the tasty cupcake he ate two weeks ago was baked by none other but their own band mate, Ueda Tatsuya.
Ueda just looked at his friends before slowly nodded. He didn’t know if it was really that delicious, but if his friends appreciate it, then he wouldn’t refuse them. But he told them that he will only bake it when they had their day off, not on their working day.

Ueda Tatsuya always wakes up early in the morning but today happened to be his off day. So he decided to wake up a little later than usual but the pounding at his front door seem to refuse his desire to sleep in. Grudgingly, he went to his front door, ready to yell at those who dare disturb his sleep.
“Good Morning, Tat-chan. We came to help you bake those cupcakes.” Jin said cheerily. Ueda just blinked at his visitors, not completely register what Jin had said.
“You come for what?” Ueda asked again.
“We’re here to help you, Tat-chan. You did say that you will bake those cupcakes when you have a day off. Since both KAT TUN and NewS was given the same off day, we thought maybe we can come and help you to make the cupcakes.” Yamapi explained energetically. Ueda have no choice but to let his visitors in. Jin and Yamapi practically skipping with excitement. Kame just being his usual self but what surprised Ueda was the fact that Nishikido Ryo was also present with the three of them.
“What are you doing here, Nishikido? I would never have thought you will be interested in baking cupcakes.” Ueda asked, curiously. Ryo just looked at him with a bored expression.
“Pi dragged me here. It’s not like I really want to be here, much less to learn baking from you. I have so much better things to do.” Ryo answered.
“Hey, you were the one who complaint to me that you were bored, Ryo-chan. And since Jin and I had already planned to come to Tat-chan’s apartment, we just didn’t tell you that. Besides, you were the one who followed us.” Yamapi protested. Ryo just glared at Yamapi. The truth is, he already knew about their plan to come to Ueda’s apartment to bake the cupcakes, and he also knew that if he told Yamapi he was bored, Yamapi will bring him along but that doesn’t mean Ueda have to know about that.
“Right…Ok guys, why don’t you put all the things that you brought along in the kitchen. I’m going to wash up first, and then we all can eat breakfast before we bake those cupcakes.” Ueda told them and shooing them into the kitchen.

After breakfast, they started preparing things to bake the cupcakes but nothing seems to be running smoothly as Ueda expected. And after a few attempts, let’s just say that having 5 people in the kitchen is not a very good idea. Especially when two of them like to fool around. As the result, they were all covered with flour, the kitchen was a messed and they hadn’t managed to bake even a single batch of cupcakes. To say that Ueda was mad was an understatement, he was furious. He vowed not to let those two clown named Yamapi and Jin to ever come near his kitchen again.
“Okay guys, I think this is enough for today. Let’s just do this some other time since we obviously have to work tomorrow and it’s getting late now.” Ueda said with a resign tone.
“But..but..We hadn’t manages to bake anything,” Jin said with a pout. Kame just glared at his boyfriend.
“Well, obviously. If you and Pi doesn’t fooling around earlier, we might get this baking thing right.” Ryo said sarcastically to Jin.
“We’re sorry Tat-chan, for making messes in your kitchen.” Yamapi said with a sorry tone.
“Don’t worry about it. I can clean all the mess later. Why don’t we all wash ourselves and go for dinner.” Ueda suggested. All of them nodded in agreement.

The next day, Ueda brings a box full of cupcakes for his friends. Even though he was mad at them for making a mess in his kitchen, but he can’t bear the dejected look on both Yamapi and Jin faces when they hadn’t manage to bake the cupcakes. So, when he went back home after dinner, he started to made those cupcakes.
Both Yamapi and Jin are delighted when Ueda gave them those cupcakes. Since Ueda made quite a lot, all of NewS members also join the KAT TUN members eating those sweet treats. Ueda just smile happily because he makes his friends happy.
Later that day, Ryo manage to corner Ueda alone. Ueda just raised his eyebrow as if asking what Ryo wanted with him.
“Look, I know this sounds crazy but I just wanted to know one thing. What did you put in your cupcakes?” Ryo asked.
“Huh, what?” Ueda was puzzled with Ryo’s question. He thought about the ingredient in his cupcakes, and he didn’t found anything unusual with it.
“Well, the usual I guess, you know flour, sugar, butter and eggs, nothing unusual. What’s with the question?” Ueda asked the younger man back.
“Because..because..Since I ate your cupcakes, I can’t stop thinking about you. You are always in my mind. And sometimes I felt mad or jealous at Pi because he seems close to you. And I also started to miss you when you’re not around. That’s why I want to know what you put in your cupcakes that cause me to react that way. Did you put a love potion in it?” Ueda just laughed hearing the accusing tone that directed to him when Ryo asked that question.
“Don’t be silly, Nishikido. There’s no such thing as love potion. Where did you get that silly idea?” Ueda asked playfully.
“But….but…why did I have all these feeling? I don’t understand.” Ryo said looking confused. Ueda just smiled when he heard that question from Ryo. For the first time since their encounter, Ueda’s smile was directed at Ryo and the younger man can’t help but feel bubbly in his heart.
“Well, I don’t know about that. I think you need to search the answer yourself. But I know one thing though; when I bake the cupcakes I put my all into it. Those cupcakes were made by all the love that I have inside here.” Ueda point at his heart before continued, “And it’s called the cupcakes of love, Nishikido. Well, I’ll be going now. Ja.” Then, Ueda give Ryo a quick kiss on the cheek before he left Ryo and whistling his favorite song.
