in most cases i love seeing that sort of intelligence in animals (when they're not determined to commit suicide). like how tasma now understands that turning a doorknob can open a closed door. thank goodness she doesn't have the right paw shape and trajectory to turn the knob, but she will try and leap at the knob sometimes. she also knows how to turn the shower tap on (she likes the dampness of the tub but hates getting sprayed by the water bottle... i really don't get it).

They are extremely intelligent birds and can use tools, it isn't surprising that one could make such a decision. Unfortunate that you had to see it though.
