For any of you who hear about the tornado in Currituck, we're fine.
We lost two hundred year old oaks and a crepe myrtle. Jamie's garage is gone.
The house--untouched.
We're lucky.

LATER:
Oh, the ones from a couple of days ago! I heard late this afternoon more were expected near Charlotte, which confused me about your location.
Sorry about the trees! I love crepe myrtles, grew up with one outside my window.

We had a tornado about 8:00 this evening.
It's all good though--I don't think clarity is my strong point right now. I'm sort of in shock that my house is still here. *L*

Did you see any pictures of the damage to the farmer's market, airport and I-40?
It was nuts!
Weird weather...indeed. I'm sorry for the person whose house got hit with a tree...That sucks. We were so lucky.

According to local news, there were no injuries from the storms/tornadoes.
The tally?
*Two tornadoes hit Currituck (one here, one in Grandy)--No homes destroyed.
*Friday there was one in Pasquotank--One home destroyed in the "Crystal Lakes" subdivision off Main St. Extended. The family had recently moved to the area. No injuries. One touched down in Chowan (near Canon Ferry Road) and damaged four roofs. Several homes were damaged in Bertie Co.
So really we got off pretty light.
Still freaked me the fuck out. *L*
