Film director Sidney Lumet dies at 86
Best known for classics such as "Network," "Serpico," "12 Angry Men"
I'm not familiar with his work, besides "12 Angry Men" (I didn't know some people put movie titles in quotation marks instead of italicizing it or leaving it normal). We were shown this movie during my Theory of Knowledge class in high school. ( Read more... )

I remember liking "12 Angry Men" too. Although it's true that there's a violation of law going on there. Or at least current law.

I remember that "Network" (a satire about media) & "Serpico" (corrupt NY police) were good-- so much to revisit! And I wish I'd kept my old grammar book so I could recall when to use quotes. I know song titles get quotes and albums use italics. I think newspapers in the pre-word processor days used quotes for everything.
