Took too much on

I will consider the next five months a success if I can attain my bachelor's degree, and do whilst crying only once a month.  Freaking out, maybe...twice a month.

I am taking four classes, auditing a fifth, TA-ing a sixth, writing my senior thesis, have work study, volunteering at the public library. Time. Where did time go?  I wonder how the ( Read more... )

Oh gosh, I feel you. But you'll feel awesome when all is done! By the way, when exactly is your graduation? :)

So what's your review of last semester's S.F. literature class?

It was okay. A lot of it depended on discussions/who the classmates were. Some of the readings I wasn't so keen on; I would've liked more Asimov or "hard" science fiction (space opera-like).

I just only do the work needed to pass. Don't worry about extra readings that are not 100% necessary. Stuff like that.

There are no extra readings in my class...

I mean I don't read my textbooks at ALL unless not reading them will directly influence an exam (like it asks for notes from the books)

You're doing too much. The dancers and club people do it because they concentrate on just a few things.

What you need to do
Taking 3 classes
Senior thesis
Work study

What's important
TA-ing
Taking a 4th class

What's optional
Auditing a class
Volunteering

Cut out the audited class and the volunteering right away. You've taken too much on and they're damaging to your health, to say nothing of your effectiveness in the things that do matter. Then evaluate and if necessary consider dropping the TA position or reducing your course load to 3 classes.

Then focus on being a star in your remaining items.

My audited class isn't optional because it's Intro to Cog Sci. The reason I'm auditing it is so I have access to the documents and class discussions, and solidify all the theories I've gotten hedgepodge from other classes, without having to do the quizzes or papers. Also, Robin's letting that class count as readings for my senior thesis so my special project can count as 0.5 instead of 1.0.

Yeah, I probably shouldn't have volunteered, but it's only 2 hours/month (about) at the public library shelving books. The TA position is Intro to Programming which is done by the Monday after mid-term, and I won't actually be holding outside hours unless the students think they need me. It's mostly making little animations.

I'm thinking that if I do drop a class, it'll likely be either Psych Disorder or Intro to Creative Writing. Probably the latter.

Btw, I generally find your comments helpful and/or eye-opening, but I would appreciate less of an "ordering" tone with some sentences.
