I've started taking my antibiotics and the side effects have made going to class uncomfortable. Also, trying to figure out a good time for taking this antibiotic twice a day, 2 hrs before and after meals/dairy products and "NOT BEFORE BEDTIME" is a lot harder than I thought. Especially with dance rehearsals/classes + side effects to consider ( Read more... )

Thankfully I or my closer friends, when I knew them in person), have never been, well, "victims" of people who think "wear down the love interest" is the right way to express love. Of course, before I got to know them, or after one of us left the city/country, that's a different story! It's kind of hard, that helplessness when you can't be there for them.

Personally, I'm getting tired of men always being the butt of jokes ("Please a woman by sending flowers, giving her candy, telling her she looks nice, remembering her birthday... Please a man by showing up naked!"), being stereotyped ("boys think about sex every 60 seconds"), being told I'm inadequate by women who are strangers ("Sorry, I like really tall guys") and being accused of saying or doing things I flat out didn't do ( ... )

Women also get tired of being the butt of jokes and being stereotyped.

I don't see your example of being told you're inadequate by women who are strangers as being told you're inadequate. I see it as someone telling you what they find physically appealing; it's your interpretation that they're telling you you're inadequate. I usually prefer tall guys who on the thinner/slender side, and my past crushes and boyfriends show a tendency towards dark hair, but hey, Matt's a blond. If someone I was interested in told me they usually prefer blond, busty chicks, well, I can't help being Asian. I'm not inadequate, I'm just not what he's attracted to. I think it's more confusing when you find out someone you're into likes someone who seems similar to you (from what you know) and it could drive you crazy trying to get just why they feel that click with them but not you. But that's usually unexplainable to be sufficient to someone ( ... )

Oh my, I am completely and utterly horrified by that book! And even more so at one of the girls I work with recommending it to me! I can't believe she didn't pick up on any of that.

I'll be warning every parent I sell that book to now.

Well, if some parents are just happy their kids reading, period, they mayn't care what the topic is. :-S But glad to pass the warning!
