I love that you gave it away in the same breath as saying, "We don't give anything away," and I still found myself surprised at the end. I'm glad you did a home game entry; I really liked this!

Sometimes I wonder if I am too obvious when I give clues in my stories that have twists. Other times I worry it is too hard to see the clues at all. Still looking for that perfect balance. Glad you enjoyed!

It was more of a "The Sixth Sense" type of thing - the clues were all there right in my face, but they didn't register until the end and I had to go back and re-read the whole thing with a new perspective. I love that :)

The clues were all there, but you probably interpreted them the same way I did... I saw these two as some sort of cops or other authority figures he was trying to spin his tale to... emotionless in an interrogation room, having seen enough to be unsurprised by anything anymore. (It was the "our jobs" bit that really sealed that impression... I had not anticipated he'd been speaking metaphorically there.)

This was so much fun! I loved this rant, and the need to overthrow physicists. Besides, it isn't blue that's the problem, but I'm not ready to let others in on it yet. It might get to the government.

Perhaps I should warn you that I work for the government...

Geometric progression, using their math against them.

This is the kind of crazy that creates its own circle of logic, which eventually curdles and collapses in on itself.

The visiting narrator, though... seems less like a government employee and more like an alien.

You know, it's always worse when the crazy people are right. :O

Well, I am glad that the narrator doesn't come across as too governmental... I mean, some are pretty stiff, but this would be a bit of an unfair comparison... Though government work can be for the birds...

You totally got me - I did not see that reveal coming!! That the guy is a nutbag whackjob who would cut himself loose from the earth with a flourish of helium balloons to float into the big blue beyond was the kind of ending we were expecting... that he'd been monologuing of his brilliance to a sculpted memorial, I had not surmised! Fabulous! <3<3<3
