Fai fled like a fleeing thing from the wee little children in the Cafe, slamming the door behind him

Leaving the kids in the cafe Kurogane headed up to the apartment looking for Fai.

He tried the bedroom door and frowned deeply finding it locked. "Fai?"

Fai said nothing, not trusting his voice. Nor did he uncurl from his tight, blanket-wrapped ball. Kurogane didn't know what it had been like, what it had to be like for those kids...

...Or did he? That chilled Fai even more.

"Fai?" Kurogane said again a little more insistently. "Open the door, Fai."
