I love how you've made Ten out to be such an Evil Stepmother -- because sadly, had he kept Handy, I think it would've worked out like that. And that it took him years, but he finally accepted it... a little too late, perhaps. And then the crushing end when you remember that this is only a possiblilty. ): This was a really good read, great job!

And Ten - the more I wrote it, the more the reaction just seemed to be natural. Deep down Handy understood the Doctor's reaction as well. But yeah, it's a bit Evil Stepmother for a while.
