for fandom_muses: Write about an adventure you had with your best friend(s).

You still see strings of time and possibility passing through your mind’s eye.  Never as strongly as you remember a Proper Time Lord being able to perceive these shifts.  Choppy moments glued together.

You see a life where the Doctor kept you.

This is painfully good. Since both Doctors can see all the possibilities, the choice to abandon the second Doctor seems especially poignant in this. *adds to memories*

Painfully good. Wow, thank you. I'm so glad you liked this. The idea of all these possibilities always fascinates me, and I kept think of S2 Ten, when he tells Rose he leaves his companions because it hurts too much watching them get hurt and get old and die, and the way that must be even worse when that person is a version of you.

This is so sad the way the Doctor doesn't want the other one around, but then he learns to accept him, but then he's old and dies. The Doctor's decision to leave the other one in the other universe makes so much more sens after seeing how it would have been if he hadn't.

Yeah, I think it would be such a struggle for the proper Doctor living with the other Doctor. Both as Ten and as Eleven. It would take a while to come to terms with a double. I'm so glad this made sense in the story, and thank you for the review. <3

GEE THANKS FOR THOSE TEARS.

This is brilliant, by the way. I will write a much more comprehensive approval comment when I get back from work!

Also, can I write a companion to this?

See what happens when I try to write something fluffy about him being the bastard stepchild/new Mickey. And to quote you, "JUST REMEMBER THE ANGST IS FOR ALL OUR BENEFIT"

Thank you for the comments. I'm so glad this story worked. <3

Oh gosh, yes absolutely. I would love to read your companion piece to this.

You KNOW I adore this. I believe I used the phrase 'favorite of yours so far'. That still holds true this morning.

Thank you so much. That means the world to me.

*will try to have it up on Teaspoon sometime this week - also I see you posted some more on Teaspoon yourself!*

ALSO ON THE TEARFUL TRAIN. Oh man.

I love how you've made Ten out to be such an Evil Stepmother -- because sadly, had he kept Handy, I think it would've worked out like that. And that it took him years, but he finally accepted it... a little too late, perhaps. And then the crushing end when you remember that this is only a possiblilty. ): This was a really good read, great job!

Oh no! Well, to be fair, the tearful train is something we've all gotten used to the past few years on DW.

And Ten - the more I wrote it, the more the reaction just seemed to be natural. Deep down Handy understood the Doctor's reaction as well. But yeah, it's a bit Evil Stepmother for a while.

I'm so glad you liked. Thanks for the comment.
