Angela couldn't help herself. Even if Darkstar had explicitly told her she wasn't allowed into this particular wing of the underwater complex for some time, her curiosity got the better of her. Besides! Marbella had wandered in and she got little more than a mild scolding from Darkstar and a less-than-gentle nip from Giselle. At worse Angela ( Read more... )

*Michael sat in his well padded chair and ran his cool, grey hands over themselves. The seat was very soft and supportive, but he still could not get comfortable.*

*Mike swallowed and cast a pale blue gaze around the elegant room.*

*He wanted to go home.*

*But...he couldn't GET home without the help of his "gracious host" who had gone to fetch him "something to snack on," which sent a shiver down Mike's neck.*

OOC: Have I mentioned lately how much ILU and RPing with you? Because you are awesome. True Story.

Angela could have gone to the monitor room if she wanted. But it just wasn't the same. The Boss didn't warn her that their guest was dangerous and it wasn't as if she didn't know how to defend herself. Maybe it was that she was disobeying Darkstar that made her feel a little guilty about sneaking a peek ( ... )

*Mike practically jumped out of his seat when another predatory cat seemed to skid into his room...and a blue one at that ( ... )

This was not how Angela imagined her introduction would be. Actually, she didn't think she'd even be introduced at all. She had just wanted to sneak a peek, maybe attempt to read his mana signature (she needed the practice and she's already read everyone else's), she never really would have made her presence known. Oh no, this was not good.

The sheepish expression on her face was instantly gone, replaced with a professional, neutral look.

"Hello," she greeted politely and formally, in a manner that a certain Mrs. Morningstar might use. "Are you comfortable?"

Oh! Quick thinking! That's a very good excuse! She felt pleased with herself, even if it wasn't visible on her face.

Marbella was tugging at Angela's grip, finally deciding she wanted a closer look. Sniff. Maybe taste? Instinctively, she licked her chops.

*The door to the room opens and a seething Darkstar walks in. His rage isn't evident in his body language, but anyone who can even begin to read mana signatures could see that there was a storm under the surface.*

*He looked Mike up and down as he stepped towards him.*

I can't even leave you alone for ten minutes, can I boy?

You have to get yourself into trouble.

*Without another word, A gauntleted hand shot out and seized Mike's throat. A circle of teeth sank into the teen's flesh and Mike panicked at the relaxing feeling that was seeping into him. He pawed at Darkstar for a few desperate seconds before his eyelids grew heavy and he went limp.*

We've got unfinished business.

All of us.

*He turned to leave Angela, but then slowly turned back to her and placed Mike back in the char where he had originally left him.*

And you, Angela.

*The way he said it wasn't just angry, it was hurt.*

How could you?

The glow in Angela's eyes quickly snuff out, revealing their natural blue. She hadn't meant to stay this long with their guest. She'd only wanted to take a quick peek, maybe have a brief chat. They didn't often have a visitor who wasn't dangerous or violent or someone that was going to be silenced. She'd been too preoccupied to even notice Darkstar's approach. She should have. She should have been making constant mana-scans instead of being indignant on Darkstar's behalf.

"I-I was just curious," she answered, her head lowered, a clear sign of her guilt. She couldn't look at him, "I'm sorry. I just wanted to see for myself why he was different from our other guests," she tried to explain with a trembling voice. She doesn't like to see him upset but she can still hear the anger, the hurt in his words, in his aura.

*She could not possibly know what she had done. What she could have done. What she may have done. Darkstar feels horribly betrayed, but part of him realizes that she can't have any idea why he feels that way.*

What did he tell you?
What did he say?
Tell me the truth, Angela.

*He decides to find out before he over reacts and does damage to their relationship himself.*

His aura's worse. It scares her, actually. She hasn't been this scared since that simulation where he died. Her eyes remained downcast as she dutifully responds, "He said his name was Mike and he thinks my name is pretty, like his mom's. He said you told him you'd put him back where he came from. He really wants to go home because he doesn't want his mother to be alone."

At this she dared to raise her eyes at Darkstar, "We're not keeping him, are we? I-I don't want him here."
