Nice to see the City can find ways to throw more chaos at us than usual, though I am glad that certain people were able to show up for a time.

Before you ask, Ianto, yes I am cleaning guns on the dinning room table. To everyone else, I've put down drop clothes so there won't be any gun oil or plasma fluid leaked out on the table.

Arms folded and everything.

"Terrible boss you are," Ianto said, threading a piece of rag through a cleaning stick and poking it down the barrel, "there could be a complete slacker on the payroll, and you wouldn't even know."

"Hush you, I like paying my slacker self," he teased back.

Ducking in quickly, Ianto kissed Jack under his ear and then sat up, cleaning the gun as though it never happened.

"You probably deserve all that pay for putting up with us lot."

Jack appreciated the kiss and gave a soft, content sigh in response to it but otherwise let Ianto pretend he was not caught PDAing. Instead he continued to focus on the weapon in his hand.

"Probably," he said with a cheeky wink.

A little time passed and he reached for the stock to begin to put the revolver back together.

"I'm sorry this makes Kyle so nervous," Jack said quietly. For him, the act of cleaning firearms was strangely soothing, something that never changed no matter what time or place he was in. "It's been one of the few constants in my life."

If they were doing something like eating, Ianto would have probably taken Jack's hand, but gun cleaning required both hands, unfortunately. He was much better with the PDA thin than he used to be.

"I can see why, though. He's never really had to deal with them before he came to the City, and we've all been around them for a long time. You've been around them even longer."

Ianto used to be nervous around guns, once. Then he'd realised that the dangerous thing was the human holding it, and not the gun itself.

The revolver put back together and checked over, Jack set it aside and reached for one of the SigSaurs.

"I know," he agreed. "And I don't think Warren would thank us for returning him with a comfort of guns. Best that he doesn't have to be comfortable around them."

It would have just been nice to have Kyle's company up in the living room while they worked. Still, Jack absolutely couldn't fault Kyle's desire to stay in the room that held Warren's scent. That was a natural desire, being close to your loved one, after all.

His Glock nice and clean, Ianto started to reassemble it.

"I think we're good enough that he agreed to carry a stun gun. I know he has to get close to the person, but it's better than him being completely unarmed."

Ianto would have liked Kyle's company too, but he understood why Kyle wanted to be in his room and Ianto didn't want to disturb him.

"That reminds me, did you go over some basics with him of how to use a stun gun?" Jack asked, disassembling the SigSaur and studying the pieces for unever wear.

Locking the magazine in place, Ianto held the gun out and looked down the sight to check that it was all aligned properly.

"We spoke about it, but there were never actually any physical demonstrations. We should probably go through with one of those, actually."
