If I buy an AT&T cell phone on ebay to be used with AT&T service, how do I go about activating it or hooking it up? Do I just take it to the AT&T store and whimper pathetically?

(Because if that's the only option...)

You put the SIM card in and it just magically works? Someone calls or texts and it magically goes to the new phone instead of the old one?

Meh, cell phones aren't my technological area of expertise, clearly.

Yes, SIM cards are the magical "Soul" of AT&T phones :). If you have any problems, I'm sure at AT&T person can help, but you should just be able to switch.

Ps--when I made my phone switch, my photos didn't switch over. However, all contacts did perfectly.
