doesn't your mum like dogs? can't you get one now? seems like you could give one a good home and it would be a great thing for you really (or anyone) - to have a lovely dependable loving fluffy thing around all the time!

yea but this house isn't that suitable for a large dog. she used to be allergic to dogs/cats, but has no problems with our chihuahuas.

ah, that's a shame. you have chihuahuas? they are such funny little dogs, they have so much personality. my mum's friend used to have one that hated going for walks, so it would hide under the couch cushions whenever walking was mentioned. it would also hide at the top of the banister and launch itself upon you from on high to surprise you!
