It's a month after Valentine's Day, and that means it's time for another holiday-- this one created entirely by the Japanese chocolate industry. White Day is when men give back to those ladies in their lives who saw fit to bestow Valentine chocolate upon them, presenting each wife, girlfriend, classmate or co-worker with a reciprocal gift of white chocolate, flowers, or some other delightful (and obligatory) item.
For his part-- partially due to a lack of clarity regarding the concept, and partially due to personal preference-- Hanatarou has chosen to celebrate by giving all of his Special People chocolate (a
nine-piece assortment from Decadence du Chocolat, to be precise) now instead of last month! It's kind of a step up from last year, when he inadvertently implied that (according to Japanese standards) he was a woman; instead, he's implying that all of the recipients are women. Anyway, he was careful not to leave anyone out, so everyone got one (yes, even you). Mazel tov!
